trump has someone new writing for him. You can tell because: a) this is too long to be a normal Trump post b) the vocabulary is several steps above the normal Trump post c) it's too logical to be a normal Trump post. d) and the slam dunk: there is actual concern expressed for people other than Trump.3 points

he needs to keep confidence that he can reach the seats to right because he is seeing a lot of outside pitching and just going to right gives him better odds than trying to turn around an outside pitch.2 points

Tigers record: 16W 10L Dodgers’ record: 16W 10L The win keeps the Tigers 1/2 ahead of the Guardians for the best record in the AL. 2 games behind the Mets for the best record in MLB.2 points

YMMV, but I am 100% in on Jason Benetti taking days off to call national games all he wants as long as Dan Dickerson covers him on TV.2 points

I think he is successful because he drafts players he thinks are good. I also think having more picks in a round but not being able to draft the guys you like because those picks are later in the round than you can get that player is not very useful. If you only have a couple of guys you actually like but are 30 picks away then that pick is likely to be wasted. And in next year's 3rd round who knows if they will have someone they like as much as TeSlaa. What they do know is that they liked TeSlaa and he was available, so they went and got him. I respect the strategy as long as the guys making the picks are actually good at identifying talent.2 points

Holmes looks throughout the draft and if he has conviction on a olayers he goes and gets him. That’s what makes him successful, not playing games with value. He’s not going to hit on every player, that’s not reasonable.2 points

Are we really questioning Holmes with the draft? A 15-2 team just scored two players who will likely start for this team. I’m good2 points

So that chopper to Torkelson where he threw the runner out at home rather than take the out at second allowing the runner to score….. that kind of loomed large, eh?1 point

Even though this game was not a slam dunk a lot of good things happened.1 point

Wow, two great plays by Tork, if he's batting this inning, he's bound to hit a Home Run, right?1 point

Briceno with a 3 run homer against Dayton. WM up 3-2 top of 6th1 point

Yeah, I have no actual idea of where he is as a guard... just that the team was talking him up there. I agree with you that the most likely outcome is Mahogany-Ragnow-Ratledge on the interior with Glasgow backup for all three and Manu comfortable residing in the backup tackle spot...1 point

The end of Adolescence episode 2................It's a continuous one shot (which is unreal how they pulled that off), but how it transitioned to a drone shot for that last scene. No edits. That was incredible. They had to attach the camera to a drone seamlessly. I want to see a behind the scenes of that. It was breathtaking. And the thing is, after watching the first episode, I didn't realize that it was all done in one continuous shot until I read about it and it made me marvel at how well it was done and how much planning must have gone into it. Bravo TV is better than movies now. It really is and to me the gap is widening - by a lot, every year. Used to be that an actor going from TV to movies was slumming, but not anymore. I'd put Noah Wyle's performance in The Pitt up against any Oscar-nominated actor in the last 5 years and he might not even win the Emmy. I think movies got too obsessed with special effects and green screens that telling a great story got lost. A good old-fashioned drama like Conclave or The Holdovers is getting to be more rare. Stories on television - well you really get to tell a story and really get to dive into character arcs and blur the lines between good person/bad person. This was all started by the Sopranos, which was a movie-scale production 12 times a season.1 point

NOBODY wants to discuss Holmes late round draft strategy? Hmmmm.... I'm feeling like Shadeur Sanders all of a sudden...1 point

I went to a couple of twinight doubleheaders in 1984-1986 when I had just gotten my license and was still living at home. I'd eat dinner at home during the first couple of innings of the 1st game, hop in the car in Sarnia and drive to the game while listening to Ernie and Paul, that would take around 65-75 minutes or 4 innings or so, I'd get to my seat in the 7th or 8th, watch the end of Game 1, get my bearings and a dog during the break between games, then settle in for Game 2. Sometimes I'd leave Game 2 in the 7th inning and listen to the rest of the game in the car on the way home.1 point

I think the Rams could be a sneaky team to draft Sanders. The ironic thing is, I saw one comp for Sanders that was Jared Goff.1 point

But with the roster constructed the way it is now, which is pretty deep, as Motown Bombers said 3rd/4th/5th round guys aren't really a need for them anymore, like they used to be. Look, you can't take last year as an example of a lack of depth because they had a freakishly abnormal amount of injures, and they still held it together until the playoffs. Guys they'd take in those middle rounds - they already have those guys. They have their own way of measuring talent and it's served them very well. Let it marinate. I don't think they're going to miss the guys that would have been available in those rounds. There are specific reasons they moved up for these guys. Just let it marinet. Trust in Brad.1 point

Even if it is/was an even trade based off the value charts I still don't agree with risking that kinda capital for essentially a high ceiling project. To me that type of return is for somebody like a Brian Branch type of player who inexplicably dropped in the draft.1 point

This. Sat is Montero's scheduled day to pitch and since it's now a DH it's a free call-up.1 point

The Tigers have gotten really good at syncing their 6th starter up with double headers. Starting Montero Monday was a stroke of genius.1 point
