You know that he works with children with cancer and started a foundation to help families deal with sick children, right? No, I'm just kidding, he's an asshole, **** him.3 points

Does that bullpen cop from 2012 still work Fenway? I’d like to see Carpenter plunk one right off his head.3 points

Apple’s color guy just called the Tigers a “great team” so I guess that word is being used loosely tonight.2 points

In one of his books Bill James talked about Stan Musial. He had an unusual "down" year, by his standards. Must have been 1947 based on his stats? Anyway, James said he was trying to find something in the numbers to figure out why. He was age 26. His prime. He had been great in the years before and after. Won MVP the year before and after. It was his second year back after WWII service. When James met him he asked about that season and Stan said they had just had a kid and he wasn't a good sleeper and kept him up at night. He still had a good year just not a Stan Musial year.2 points

Skubal never does anything when it counts, so it doesn't matter either way!2 points

He literally helped get him elected when he reopened the email scandal. He should literally be thanking him, not indicting him. If you look at Hillary's poll numbers after Comey reopened the investigation in 2016, you can see just enough of a drop off where she was effected by it.2 points

Good to hear. These days I hardly pay any attention to the Grapefruit League, NFL training camps or NHL Septembers. Instead I piggy back on the effort of others to keep tabs on developments, ha. Keeps me fresh for opening day and the long season ahead, lol! I continue to lurk on this thread and will probably go through the whole thing the morning of the first regular season game.1 point

Tough Call but I agree since winning on Sunday might not clinch anyway and either way a 3 game series is imminent .1 point

If the wild card is clinched but the division is in play, what would people do here? I say save Skubal.1 point

If we get the wild card I want Cleveland. Beating them in the playoffs would perfect payback.1 point

JVL today https://www.thebulwark.com/p/america-needs-a-project-2029?utm_campaign=email-post&r=45wcm&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email Democrats and Never Trumpers need to develop their own Project 2029. Face it America is broken. All norms have been shattered. We can't count on the courts to help fix it and without major landslides, which are unlikely to happen, relying on Congress is a joke. Develop a plan and run on it. There needs to be a New Fair Deal1 point

Right before they came back from commercial before the final half inning they showed the final out in ‘87 against Toronto. I actually got choked up. I was in high school. I started to think about how I was now (in 2006) married with 2 kids and a job and a house…. 19 years can be a small amount of years, like 2006 to now feels, or pretty much a lifetime, as 87 to 06 felt to me then.1 point

But the Baltimore defense may be highly over-rated. Living on their past reputation. Look at their game in Buffalo. Not many teams lose when they score 40 points. And Detroit exposed their weaknesses. Detroit (and Buffalo) have top 5 offenses but the Baltimore defense is no longer dominating.1 point
