  2. It all started with Fernando Vina. None of those guys would have signed if he didn't sign first. Nobody was more under appreciated than Vina,

  3. yeah - wrong analysis, wrong answer. The issue is too few balls in play. With more balls in play, BaBIP takes care of XBH automatically.

  4. It was a good article. Not a big fan of the proposal. They need to deaden the ball possibly lower or move the mound. Don't punish athleticism

  5. It was a beautiful night down there with my family. Very fortunate to have a friend whose company has a suite, he’s in charge of it. With my youngest son’s issues it’s extremely convenient. This goes back to the Pistons at the Palace. Every year he threw a couple of Pistons games at us. When they opened LCA he did the same. He’s a hockey guy, a coach and player, so he respects the game. Last few years all 4 of us rarely got to go together as my oldest was working. Tonight it worked out. My buddy is close to retirement, maybe in January, so I have no idea if we will get to go back. But I’m very grateful and don’t take it for granted. I love going to Wings games in the winter.

  7. I was very patient with Davenport for a long time, bad luck, talented guy was my thinking. I was full on wrong. I think so much was dependent on him being BOTH effective and present. Those two words are incompatible in the world of Marcus Davenport. He was a bad decision.

  8. Remember when it would be considered a career ender if a politician went on a racist/xenophobic rant against an entire group of people based on the country they are from? Ah, the good old days…

  9. With Vierling back and Torres healthy, there is still a question mark around whether Riley contact rate continues to degrade or recovers. But other than that, I'm also more concerned about the pitching than the hitting. They ranked pretty well in offense in the 1st half when Torres was healthy - granted some of that was production from McKinstry that won't likely be repeated, but I expect Keith and Dingler will show more additional upside in '26. Pitching has to improve though Thinking back - '24, the O didn't score enough but once they got out of April, when the Tigers had a lead I always felt pretty good - close games weren't traumatic. Last season in the 2nd half no lead ever felt safe.

  11. Unless the densest among us are unable to appreciate the situation, the fact that they will blow away "enemies of the people" in the open ocean and go back and gun them down a second time means they will definitely do that to anyone who they do not like inside the United States. So, the black masked goons are waiting and watching for the reaction.

  13. We are doing our yearly Rockin' For The Hungry broadcast - when we broadcast out in the cold in front of Kroger on South Maple to raise awareness, food and money for Food Gatherers. Our goal is to raise the equivalent of 1.5 million meals. We had a tremendous first day. You can help out by donating on the website I am providing in this post or you can stop by. We broadcast from 6am through 7pm Monday through Friday and 7am - 5pm Saturday. For a gift of $100 you could score some pretty good concert tickets (but those are going FAST) or some vinyl albums. There are some concerts that are going for $50. I am there from 3p - 6:45 p on the weekdays and from 2 - 5 on Saturday. Thank you https://give.foodgatherers.org/ge/rockin

  15. I'm hesitant on someone Tampa let go of for a relatively reasonable 1 yr $10 mil (adjusting for the buyout they gave) when his history suggests he's worth more than that. Even if they held onto him for trade value. It makes me concerned they know something.

  21. Tiger Territory today mentioned Valdez, suggesting he'd require ~ 5/140. They said that's not Harris' way, but having him and Skubal at the top of the rotation would be formidable and would show Skubal that they mean business. Harris usually requires some significant injury history before his interest gets peaked. So I don't expect Valdez to be a Tiger.

  22. The Gremlin was a POS too. A buddy had one. He loved it, even though it was broke all the time. That said, it was a different era. Back then you could work on cars, and preventative maintenance really helped. The cars were similar, but different. Chrysler and AMC were kind of the odd balls. In those days there were big thick manuals on how to fix them. So many times they would explain how to fix something in a detailed way, and then the disclaimer; except Chrysler. Their starters were a POS. So were the front suspension. There was nothing worse to align the front end than a Chrysler, and you always had to replace the ball joints first. They were always bad. At least someone with some tools could work on them. Not today.

  26. Agreed. We already have a few 2nd base options, as well as some prospects. Forget middle infielders, sign some quality pitchers...

  27. One would need to play 3rd part time at the very least as well and atleast Torres has been on record not wanted to play 3rd. I think that shipped sailed when Torres accepted in QO.

  28. I'd love to see the mound moved back 6 inches or so. I think that'd give more reaction time for hitters. Not sure what would be better to help hitters, lower a mound or move it back a little.

  29. It's a scam, but a very successful one. There were only ever two justifications for crypto - to hide transactions from legal oversight, and to create a currency 'free' from central bank 'manipulation. Turns out crypto fails on both counts. Forensic accountants have demonstrated that with a little effort, bit-coin transactions can be traced and reconstructed, the 2nd concept was nonsense to begin with. The only value of a fiat currency in the first place (and the reason they have replaced "hard" money like gold) is that some central bank does 'manipulate' it to try and hold its value constant so it can be useful as an exchange medium over reasonable time scale (and not inflate or deflate the economy just because someone opened or closed a mine somewhere.) You can argue central banks don't always do a good job of it, or do it wrong, but the value of a dollar holds well enough for markets to function - this was never going to be true of a cryptocurrency exactly because there is no 'manipulation' for keeping it's value constant - thus it is totally useless as a pricing/exchange medium. As you note - at every moment in time the value of a bit-coin *in dollars* has to be found in order for any transaction to be possible. OTOH, as a 'greater fool' investment scam, it's outperformed anyone's wildest dreams.

  30. It might be as simple as Fairbanks made only 3.5 Ms last year and was due for 11 this year, and the Rays don't play that. From a performance standpoint, Fairbanks does get hit pretty hard, so he's only some bad BABIP from getting crushed, an especial problem for someone who has also lost his strikeout mojo over the last couple of years.

  31. No... It would be the Tigers' 3rd rounder. The pick sacrificed isn't the same as the 4th rounder the Padres gained. It is the Tigers' third pick, but their third pick is actually the competitive balance pick which is ineligible to be forfeited. If, however, they acquire a competitive balance pick in a trade, the acquired pick becomes forfeit eligible and the sacrificed pick would be either that acquired pick or the second rounder depending on which pick is acquired. That is to say... probably their 3rd rounder, but I wanted to explain the scenario it is another.
