TOL L 10-6
Bergner with a non-great line of 3IP 5ER to bring his AAA ERA to 7.20 with Lipcius going 0/4 with 2K. Daz "Don't call me Mike" Cameron with a 2/4 with a HR night.

Erie L 2-1 /10
Lost in extras no offense though I believe they remain in first. Looks like they went the opener route with Moreno pitching first then Hurter with a much better outing of 4 IP 7K and an unearned run. Meadows went 1/3 with a BB and a K. Workman with the designated 2K's but went 1/5 with a double and the lone RBI.

WM L 3-0

Shut out only getting 3 hits. Not much to talk about here Crouch and Serretti each had a hit. Jung had a BB. He has played in 27 games and walked 24 times and struck out 26.

Lakeland W 7-0

It wasn't a complete loss on the farm tonight. Graham hits his first professional HR while going 2/4 with 3 RBI's. Not to be outdone Santana went 2/4 with a HR and 2B. Melton went 3IP with 1K. Dom Johnson seems to be finding his groove after some poor results in rookie ball he was also 1/3 with a BB and two SB.

This swing from Santana is a thing of beauty though.

Reese Olson went 5IP 2R(both unearned) and 6Ks today. After struggling for most of the summer this is now his 4th start out of the last 5 where he has given up 2 runs or less and in that time he has a 39 to 6 K:BB ratio so it's good to see him finishing the year strong.

Think he set the Erie all-time season strikeout record, too.

Toledo W 5-2 - Garcia with a solid 6IP 6K outing while giving up 2ER  set the tone for the game, Lipcius continues to feast on AAA pitching with a 2/3 2B BB performance bringing his BA to .320 with a .919 OPS over 29 games.

Erie W 9-2 - Erie went with the death by a thousand cuts route notching only one XBH a double by Workman his 29th. Meadows went 2/4 with 2RBI and a SB. Workman went 1/3 with a K and a BB to go along with the double. Newcomer Garcia went 0/2 with 2 BB and a K. As shown above Olson went 5IP 2 non-earned runs and 6K bringing his season ERA to 4.15

WM W 7-6 - WM tried to give this one away but were able to hang on for the win. Jung goes 0/4 with 2K's and Pacheco tries to match him but sneaks in a BB to go 0/3 with 2 K's. Crouch goes 3/4 with an RBI. Serretti goes 1/3 with a BB and 2B and had 2 runs and a SB. 2022 draftee Trevin Michael with an ugly 2/3 IP 4ER line.

Lakeland L 7-3 - The only loss in the org last night. Graham goes 1/3 but is pulled in the 8th for Luke Gold (Not sure why). Nothing really of note here Santana and Dom "Don't Call me Don" Johnson hit sac flys.

Is Lipcius on the verge of leapfrogging Kreidler on the org depth chart? He was drafted 3rd from Tennessee (Kreidler was 4th from UCLA).  Similar college pedigrees. Don’t know much about Andre’s defense and likely position, though he seems like he could be as versatile as Kreidler (2B, 3B, SS).  Seems to have a bit more speed, maybe less power, but he has walked almost as many times as he has struck out, with an OBP close to .400.  Andre seems like a better fit in our current lineup.

It's that name, Andre Lipcius, that is holding him back.  It's a good name for a guy who hopes that some day the Paris runway models will be wearing his designs.  Maybe now that Avila is gone we can get back to drafting guys named Mike and Bart and Chuck.

His parents dropped the ball by not getting him into tennis as a youth, I could definitely see that name in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon or Roland Garros.

Kreidler has defensive chops; Lipcius was moved off of short pretty quickly. Be weary of a fluky BABIP fueling his recent hot streak.

Speaking of BaBIP, Carpenter with over 60 MLB PA, an 840 OPS on only a 308 BaBIP. Who knows if he will just flame out but that's a fair start for a guy who was given zero chance of making the majors 5 months ago.

Toledo:

Lipcius again with a 2 for 4 including a double and now at .327/ .932... if he can't handle SS does he have enough bat/ glove where we could put him somewhere? Or as Ed says... is this BABIP fueled and he will regress to the mean soon enough so don't worry about it...?

Erie:

Madden pitched a good game but gets the loss on 2 unearned runs; 4 inn's, 5 hits, 1 BB and 5 K's...

No offense to speak of at all...

WM

Dylan Smith pitched a good game and gets the 4-0 win on 6 shutout inn's, 2 hits, 2 BB's and 6 K's...

Not much offense but Serretti went 2 for 4 (incl. a double) and is hitting .294 at WM... Pacheco hit a HR in a 1-4 but is still below Mendoza at .190.

As long as he can keep producing they'll need to find a spot in the lineup for him...

Toledo: Wins 10-9 in the 10th but even with that... not really anything interesting player-wise....

Erie: Loses 13-6. Parker 2 for 3 with two doubles and then PH for (I hope he's ok...) with De La Rosa... And Flores got completely rocked with 7 runs in only 1 inning pitched...

WM: Loses 5-4. Jobe pitched 5 innings, 1 run on a HR, 2 hits 1 BB, 4 K's... nothing much of interest on offense.

Lakeland: Loses 14-1. Nothing of interest on either side of the ball...

Has the team announced who’s playing in the AFL?  If I had my way, it would be Keith, Perez, Crouch and Hurter.

Hunter is probably being shut down. You don't typically see starting pitchers who pitched a full season sent over. Perez has been on the IL for a month now, probably not being sent unless he is healthy.

It is 7: four pitchers and three position players. The pitchers tend to be relievers but at least one who can start should be sent, that is likely somebody who missed some time.
