false equivalency. Very. If you want to compare AOC to someone, compare her to Liz Cheney. Both are on the extreme of their sides. The difference is the dems are not voting to not refer to AOC as a democrat and kicking her off committees for her beliefs. MTG is not just a right winger. She's a whack job. There's no comparison to AOC. I used to say that being a Republican didn't necessarily mean you were a nutcase. But as they push aside the non nutcases it's becoming harder to say that. It's a requirement it seems to be a member in good standing. Those aren't my words, it's theirs.4 points

And the official proceeding was the certification of our elections. Disrupting that is committing violence to our country and constitutional form of government. A mob, even if not all members are actively breaking things, still conveys the menace and threat. Many were violent, and he went along with them.2 points

In Bouton's book he played with Morgan in Houston after he was traded there by the Pilots. He referenced a story where Pete Rose was thrown out sliding at the plate. He came back to the dugout and said "If I was black I'd have been safe." Morgan said "If you were black you wouldn't have needed to slide"2 points

man you are a tough audience. I thought Manning showed the potential to be dominating, when he commanded his secondaries. But last season he was like where Mize was in 2020, rough, but too good to learn anything else against AAA hitters. He needs/needed the challenge of throwing all his pitches to big leaguers to sort out what is going to work for him and make the needed adjustments - like Mize had to move from the Split to more sliders once he faced big-leaguers.2 points

Barring any major setbacks whether it be injuries or performance based(like they look totally overmatched in Spring Training) I think Greene and Tork will both be up on Opening Day. I'm sure the rules about call up time and getting that extra year of control will change in the new CBA but even if they don't I think it would still be in the Tigers best interest to have them on the Opening Day roster. The reason being is that the Tigers are in a position where they are going to need every win they can get if they want to make the playoffs and delaying Greene and Tork's call up by a month may give them an extra year of control but could cost them a win or 2 and those wins may end up costing them a playoff spot.2 points

Overall I'm ok with the result here. I love JV, but he's still a risk and I don't blame the team for going with ERod as their established starter signing over the Verlander reunion. A team like the Astros, who have a 90-win pedigree, makes more sense to take that risk than the Tigers.1 point

Blough is the 3rd string QB thrust into the backup job so I’m not going to bat to support him. I would question the front office and coaching staff as to why Blough is taking up a roster space if he’s not a better option when the worst starting QB in the league is hurt and not at 100%.1 point

It's probably fair to blast the source, but this source says the violent insurrectionists and also rioters did have guns https://www.motherjones.com/crime-justice/2021/09/trump-extremists-guns-january-6-insurrection-congress-domestic-terrorism/1 point

The asshole who murdered our friend at Virginia Tech was mentally ill too. If he hadn't ended his own life, he'd deserve to be in prison now too.1 point

I was one of the people who didn't like the Fielder signing. it seemed like a really impulsive signing precipitated by the Victor Martinez injury and I didn't think he'd age well. Thankfully, they were able to move him for Kinsler which I think was one of DD's best moves.1 point

You don’t get to make the rules, Jughead. He can say whatever he wants about our country. This is America and we allow people the freedom to dissent. It is what we were founded on. Trying to silence him is about as unpatriotic as one can get. Stop hating on our country and embarrassing your flag with your weak ass xenophobic bullshit.1 point

Let me get this straight, you support killing an unarmed and non violent people because they were in Capitol but a guy who what being beaten and had a gun pointed at him was not supposed to defend himself. You libs never cease to amaze me.1 point

When your life is in danger you do have a right to be judge, jury and executioner. Most of you are condemning Rittenhouse for being there but why are you not condemning the BLM and liberal rioters for being there? Many of you just support whatever fits the liberal narritive no matter how wrong it is.1 point

So we suffer through a long rebuild to suffer through covid to worry through a potential work stoppage and still no Tork and Greene opening day? Unacceptable !!1 point

Baez's skill set makes me more nervous than the other options, but I would be OK if they signed him.1 point

That's sort of my point - that they had pretty much lost confidence in the passing game - or at least in a balanced attack, before Goff even hurt himself on that throw. Maybe he was ailing before, whatever. And no doubt it was a good strategy until Nelson went down and Pittsburgh brought everyone up. Under normal circumstance that's when your QB gashes them for some big plays and puts the game away.1 point

Where i work here in Michigan my company is preparing for the mandatory masks for the not vaccinated rule to potentially go in affect next month. So the 2 HR ladies were going over the memo to be posted with about 20 salaried employees. As they were going over the memo they referred to Whitmer as Governor Whitless, and suggested she is going beyond the federal regulations because she expects to lose reelection and wants to get appointed to the Biden cabinet. I said "maybe she is trying to save lives?" From there the whole thing turned into a shouting match and the meeting was cut short. The Trumpies were shouting "the good states aren't doing this !" And calling Whitmer a political pawn of the president. All because they have to wear a mask for a while. It's embarrassing.1 point

I hope he opts out as that means he probably had a good 2 years and at that point let someone else take on the risk going forward.1 point
