If they don't come out of this offseason with a significant upgrade at shortstop, Harbaugh should be fired.4 points

I wish they would have signed either Gausman or Gray. Imo, Gray is a great value.2 points

McVay has such a punchable face, not to mention comes across as arrogant as all hell with the smartest guy in the room vibe so nothing would please me more than to see him get fired.2 points

I'm so glad I didn't have to hear that stupid fucking Buckeye Across the Field fight song, or whatever those slack-jawed troglodytes down there in Columbus call it, 100x on Saturday. I'm also glad to not hear Gus Johnson stroking out screaming TOUCHDOWN OHIO STATE! CHRIS OLAVE! GARRETT WILSON! CJ HENDERSON! 100x during the game. It took me three years to figure out why I dislike Gus Johnson and I realized it has nothing to do with Gus himself, he's a fine announcer. Instead, it's because all my memories of Gus calling games are Michigan losing to Ohio State. It's the same reason I loved Keith Jackson and Bob Griese back in the day. So woah nelly and amen to that!2 points

TBH, this is starting to feel like Juan Gonzales. The best deal may be the one you don't make.1 point

That's why it was silly when people kept proposing like 5 year 125 million deals for some of these guys.1 point

I don't have a problem with Correa doing what he has to do to maximize his value. That's just business. But the Tigers are under no obligation to wait for him if they want to go in a different direction. And if that means going after Baez or Story, so be it. At the end of the day, they'd be a better team with either one of those signings, at a cost which may allow them to make additional adds.1 point

It's specifically called out in the clubhouse. it's not just a general "this is wrong so don't do it". It's unique in that regard. And Pete said "Ok, you got me. I agree on a permanent ban if you don't investigate further or announce anything that you have already found". Case closed.1 point

Fork, yeah! I mean, fork, yeah! Aw, shirt, I meant "fork". Son of a bench, what the fork! This is such bullshirt!1 point

Baseball made it very clear for a long time that any kind of gambling in the game was strictly prohibited. Players didn't get to choose what kind of gambling they could do. It was all wrong... Until MLB figured out that it was profitable.1 point

Christmas miracle? 😂 Nah, there was something you posted the other day that I liked. We’re on a roll. lol1 point

I didn't list him because I'm not sure he would command a top SS prospect, but ideally he'd be the one you trade. I was thinking about guys who are blocked (CJ Abrams/Padres) or could be had based on their teams plans (Anthony Volpe, Oswald Perazo--both NYY).1 point

… can we try being a little less crude? I, for one, would appreciate it. Thanks.1 point

A lot of Robbie Ray’s future success is going to be tied up in whether he can keep his career low BB rate as low as it was last year. But even if he does, one big red flag is how much luck factored into his Cy Young success this season. His .268 BABIP ranks 9th luckiest out of 39 qualified starters, but even more starkly, his strand rate of 90.1% is the highest full-season rate in big league history. These two data points are a key reason his RA9-WAR, which reflects actual on-field results, is 7.1, while his regular WAR, which is predictive based on fielding-independent results, is only 3.9. That’s a big enough difference that I would be cautious in taking a $200MM chance on him.1 point

Mize could be the next Rick Porcello (high GB%, pretty effective, always more upside) or the next Verlander, if he can use his Splitter to bolster his K rate from 7 ish to 9 ish. The mystery should enhance his tradd value, but for many reasons (including the fact that he wad a 1st overall pick, and they dont want to be seen as selling out on him), I dont think they consider him tradeable at this point.1 point

Hey, they have to be agile. For all we know the remaining SSs might be asking for too much (either dollars or years), uninterested, and/or looking to return to their previous clubs. And it could be that they are just playing the negotiation game. I'm not sure about pursuing Ray. He's had two fantastic seasons and a bunch of meh. That worries me more than too many lefties in the rotation.1 point

Or it could be like when they drafted Suh over McCoy and both were pretty good but Suh may have been a little better.1 point

Looking at reviews for electric snow blowers. It is truly unbelievable how many people rate it before they even tried using it on snow and admit it in the reviews. Thanks for making the aggregate scores useless you jabronies.1 point

I thought Gardenhire was fine - like Casey, he had been given an impossible task, but maybe unlike Casey if he had had the horses he would not have been a factor holding them back.1 point

I wholeheartedly agree. At a minimum he should do a super bowl halftime show.1 point

I would be happier with the 96-05 Braves than the 2010s Royals and it's not even close. Having a good team to follow every summer is what it's all about. Winning the post-season tournament is fun but that's only a few weeks versus ten fun summers.1 point
