  1. Tigers are #1 in the AL in defensive runs saved and #2 in outs above average.

  2. My understanding is that Stanley Kubrick was hired to film the fake moon landing. However, he was such a perfectionist that he insisted that they film on location.

  6. The SO has been thought the ringer around all this for a long time now - at one point even being pushed/pulled in opposite directions by the nutritionist and the MD. She doesn't fit any of the profiles. The only thing I've been learning from it all is that between the host, the flora, the diet, the environment, not to mention drug interactions, the net system is so complicated that anyone who makes definitive claims about solutions is still gonna be wrong about half the time.

  7. Anyone remember LooseGoose? That’s who his posts remind me of a bit. He would post articles like DPS and not really follow up with them.

  8. We are getting thrown out at home by too many steps too often. It has to be a closer play than that if you are going to send him.

  9. From a couple websites Ive seen they have said that Hendricks is flying up boards and I have seen him as high as 4 on some boards. Theres always that one guy that has a meteoric rise and he is looking like he could be that guy this year.

  13. I was also thinking this but who do you send down or up? My thought would be you have to push someone from Erie to Toledo to make room which I would say you move Perez to Toledo to make room for Serretti so you have an infield of Serretti, Workman, and Keith.

  17. Ain't that the truth. I wouldn't take him #2 but I really like Taylor Hendricks. If they could trade beck a bit and pick up another asset plus Hendricks I would love it.

  19. Not the reason they lost by any means yesterday, but it was another lineup with Cabrera and Schoop batting back 2 back... painful stuff Setting aside Miggy, who is untouchable so long as he wants to play, how much more leash is Schoop gonna get? He's really hard to watch at the plate right now

  23. sort of implies that you have to let batters be the hitters they are if you want better results. It you want a team that walks more, go find hitters that walk - but if you try to make the hitters you have into hitters that walk, you will just get hitters that don't hit either.

  26. BB% has gone from around 8% in April to 5% in May. SO% has gone from around 28% in April to 20% in May. Or, I guess another way to look at it is that balls put into play per plate appearance have gone from around 64% to 75% over the same time frames? There's a bit of noise in there from hitters safe on errors, baserunning outs, HBP, etc, but I wouldn't think it drives off of the 64% or 75% all that much. A better base running team than last season putting more balls into play lately. I'm a fan.

  28. & 600+ doubles & 1800+ RBI's. Still hoping (not expecting) a couple more Miggy moments this summer

  29. It would be great if Miggy finished with a lifetime BA of .300+....500 HRs isn't going to be as special going forward...but 3000 hits, 500 HR and a .300 average...that is something

  30. Just a little tidbit on Miguel Cabrera.............At this point forward, he could go 0-200 and still keep his lifetime batting average over .300. This means that he could be in the lineup for about 60 or so games yet. I would hope that he would still get a few singles in those 200 at bats...........

  31. So there was a cop on the scene when this started and at least 7 still perished before the 'good guy with a gun' could engage the situation. The sane members of society need tell the gun nuts to just STFU with their asinine argument that enough guns in the 'right' hands is anything more than total lunacy as a method for acheiving public security - it's being disproven with tragic results almost daily now.

  35. The White House Plumbers (HBO) It's satire coming from the folks that gave us Larry Sander, VEEP, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Definitely over the top. Wood Harrelson as E Howard Hunt and Justin Theroux as Gordon Liddy are perfect for the roles. The series are satire but the events are portrayed accurately. The first episode dealt with the break in at Ellsworth's psychiatrist's office seem accurate. The opening scene of the attempted break in at Democratic headquarters is priceless. It's not All The President's Men...but.

  36. A radio friend of mine who tried stand up comedy down in Houston was friends with him and said he was the nicest guy who would do anything for anyone. Saw him backstage once after he got really big and Sam just wanted him to stick around because he just wanted a real friend to hang out with for while. Someone he could trust. The whole screaming thing about his wife...........that did not start out as a bit. He was a bouncer at a comedy club in LA and would work on material on open mic nights. One night he arrived late after getting in huge argument with his wife and he was still seething. He got up on stage and started doing his normal (Carlin-esque) routine and saw a couple in front of the stage holding hands. He asked if they were married and they said they were engaged and he just went on a REAL tirade about marriage and it absolutely killed - and that's where he found his niche.

  37. You say that now but when Weaver takes Miller over Henderson, you'll be regretting those words. All this talk is moot anyway because we all know the Pistons are ending up with the 4th or 5th pick and will take one of the twins to play for their coach Kevin Ollie.

  38. One of my favorite places is Mt Monadnock in New Hampshire where I hike to get away from everything. Just this week, someone posted a photo in a facebook hiking group of someone at the summit aiming an AR-15 with a sophisticated scope. Apparently, you just can't get away from this ****.
