I know. Trust me, I have fantasizsed and thought about this. I think the actual way to hurt him would be to say something like "I remember he had some book in the 80's and Wrestlemania was at his casino, he was in the tabloids a lot for having affairs and getting married, then I sort of forgot about him until the Apprentice came on but I never watched. To me he was just some washed up person from the 80's like Max Headroom or that Herb the Burger King guy. Never knew why he was famous"2 points

Apparently there's issues with his work ethic and that he's not a willing tackler. If true and it's a big IF because draft rumors are usually grains of salt, there's zero chance that he's on the Lions board at all. Holmes is unpredictable in terms of his draft board vs. the consensus and trade ups/downs but in terms of the type of player he likes, he's very predictable. If the player doesn't love and breathe football and doesn't have the necessary grit, he will not be taken by the Detroit Lions.2 points

I’m pretty sure Harris understands that a team can’t build a consistent winner off 13 utility players, so I really doubt that is his long-term smartest-guy-in-the-room plan to win rings. I think we are still in the restructuring phase, and will be for another year or two, in which we are building toward a situation where we will have a team of stars, strong positional players, and versatile bench guys, along with ace, solid rotation, and solid bullpen. The rot was pretty deep when he came aboard, not just in players but in infrastructure, and there has to be equal amounts of investment on both sides to fashion a consistent winner. Based on players he inherited, out of which he has to determine who we can save and who we can dump, we seem to be closer on the pitching side than the positional side. If the hitting part is going to get fixed, it’s going to take another year or two, not another series or two. We simply don’t have all the horses we need to win with, and they will need to be acquired via draft, trade, or free agency. I think it’s becoming clearer, though, that this group of thirteen will not be the group we are going to ride or die with.2 points

More importantly...and this cannot be stressed enough. Milei is a clown but he's definitely making a great move for 21st century civilization by withdrawing Argentina's application to BRICS This is good with the usual expectation that the next party in power in Argentina will be the former flavor of kleptocrats who seek greater and greater bailouts from China and whoever else is trying to make the United States feel pain.2 points

The video made a comment about the black and blue division being an inspiration for the uniform. That would be awesome if they would start the tradition of wearing the blacks only for home division games.2 points

As far as I can tell he’s always been a self promoter. I also remember in the mid to late 90s when every city wanted a casino Trump was front and center in places like Chicago (actually Gary,IN) making pitches. He promoted himself as the biggest, smartest, business man. Then when his fame waned he got in bed with Mark Burnett for his “Reality” show that got very good ratings for a while. It worked, America has always had a soft spot for hucksters. He was the next Pat Robertson1 point

Chasing and paying for past production is the easiest way to give out a bad contract. This is a guy who has scored 20+ goals 4 seasons out of his 11 seasons yet you expect him to be the guy who pots 40 goals / is a 30 goal scorer? He's scored 30 goals once in his career. I'm not willing to make that bet personally but I can see why someone might want to chase the name recognition. I'm not saying he's a bad player, but there's a reason he's going to be available.1 point

I'm really no fan of it either. I have ZERO problem with them putting in on after he died to remember him... love him or hate him (or just dislike his ownership style) he was still a owner for a major period of time and it's fine to recognize that a memorialize him for a year... but after that? No reason to keep in going for years and years and years. He didn't found the Lions. He didn't revolutionize anything in the game or the league. At best you can say he may have keep the league somewhat afloat with Ford advertisements before the NFL became the powerhouse it is now.1 point

1987 and 2009 forever cemented the Twins as the devil for me. They could be the last baseball team on the planet after a nuclear strike that I survived and I wouldn't root for them. Tigers should have played the Cubs in 84 and the Cards in 87, and 2011 and 2013.1 point

Israel decided that "all out war" was probably not a good idea. I don't think this has any effect, whatsoever, on the Iranian nuclear bomb situation. Why would you think so? Or, exactly how is this "hurting" the situation? I think this should be looked at simply from the Israeli-Iranian sides, not from American or anti-nuclear bomb perspectives. I disagree that this hurts any situation. I believe, looking at it only from... Israel: "We killed an architect of the Oct 7th attack on us. It was an Iranian IRGC General and his team in a military annex to their embassy in Syria. They responded with a limited attack on our territory which we succesfully defended. We also will not allow an attack on our territory without a response. We have responded, in a limited manner. the offramp for both our countries to de-escalate is still there. As how the Americans say: 'The ball is now in your court'. " Iran: "We attacked Israel (limited) in response to the attack on our embassy/IRGC general. Israel attacked us in response, on our home territory? We don't know what you are talking about... we shot down a few small birds that were hovering over our military bases... nothing to see here. We consider the matter closed." This is the only thing that matters right now. The viewpoints of these two countries, only, towards each other. And Israel's attack was much more limited than what it first might have thought to have been (including me), which is allowing an off-ramp for both of these countries to stand down. That is the best, immediate, outcome. Iran's nuclear capabilities are a separate issue, IMO, to be dealt with on a separate basis.1 point

Just a random observation I made and that is that as of now Alex Faedo is on pace to throw 130 innings this year for the Tigers. I just bring that up cause we all get fixated on guys starting vs. relieving but with starters going fewer and fewer innings a start if you're a multi inning reliever like a Faedo you can end up contributing damn close to what your average starter does nowadays.1 point

This franchise is so conservative with prospects it is hard to be sure they will let Edvinsson make the team out of camp. 😉1 point

Just please get rid of the WCF patch on there. So might as well have a patch that says SOL if you're going to continue to honor the worst owner in the history of professional sports.1 point
