The Tigers have been on Apple TV a surprising number of times this season. After all, we’re small market team with a tiny payroll thanks to the Illich children who have destroyed what their father bequeathed them. We finally really did it. [falls to his knees screaming] YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! AH, DAMN YOU! GOD DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!! "8 points

This isn't by happenstance. It's by design. It's the playbook. It's so my one sister is more outraged that her Hallmark Movies and House Hunters have been ruined by the gay and black couples that losing healthcare or democracy or them shaming her about being a single childless cat lady doesn't matter. Or the other one who is staunchly pro life, but is okay with Trump wanting Mike Pence murdered or little illegals drowning in barbed wire at the border. God will judge Trump so she doesn't have to. So long as the illegals don't get free ****, she can sleep well at night. Once you dehumanize others and paint them as the enemy, the rest is easy.7 points

The Feds were slow to raise the rates. Now, they are being slow to lower them. Is Scott Harris in charge?4 points

I’ll show them—instead of ponying up $6 for Apple TV, I’m going to just go to the game in person. And spend about $100 in the process.4 points

Biden just said it was Germany and Slovenia that had to make the hard decisions. His relationships with those heads of state gave him confidence the deal would get done. Total bad ass. DonOLD woulda never gotten this done esp with Germany and Slovenia paying for it.3 points

It’s all about the outrage. EVERYONE SHOULD BE OUTRAGED!!! There are some things to be outraged about, like J6 and the attempt to subvert the will of the voting citizenry. All this crap- just serves to identify the outrage spreaders as the self delusional people they are.3 points

For anyone who hasn’t read any of the articles dealing with her gender… in a nutshell: Algerian Imane Khelif, who defeated Italian boxer Angela Carini in under a minute when Carini forfeited, is a woman from birth; however, she has naturally occurring high levels of testosterone and was excluded from a competition last year for failing an unspecified gender eligibility test, which has led many right-wing commentators to falsely claim Khelif is transgender or even a "biological man." In fact, gender transitions are banned in Khelif's home country of Algeria, so if she hadn't been female at birth, she likely could not even have competed under their flag as a woman. Khelif is not a transgender athlete. She was born female but has a disorder of sex development (DSD) that results in XY chromosomes and naturally elevated testosterone levels. DSD encompasses a group of rare conditions that affect genes, hormones, and reproductive organs. Individuals with DSDs may be raised as female but possess XY chromosomes and testosterone levels typically found in males.”2 points

That stinks. Apple may offer a free trial but trying to cancel it before it's up is very difficult. Yeah, been there, done that. MLB is doing everything it can to turn fans away. Spending money on their product and still not being able to watch a favorite team isn't the best business model.2 points

If this training camp smoke becomes fire and Levi becomes a starter or reliable rotational player alongside Reader and McNeill, the 2021 draft class has to go from not just being the best in Lions history (which it probably already is) to being discussed as among the best in NFL history.2 points

To me Trout is a no brainer first ballot HOF if he retires tomorrow. Was the best player in the world for almost a decade, has 3MVPs and another 2 runner ups. His career OPS+ of 173 is only topped by Ruth, Williams, Bonds, Gehrig and Hornsby.2 points

Both the hitting and pitching coaches departed after 1984. (Craig and Brown) I’ve never thought this received enough attention after 1984.2 points

DD could have been forgiven for trading prospects if he had done the companion work to get the scouting, drafting, and development science deployed to the minor league system so that the Tigers' pipeline would replenish after his trades. It wasn't the trades themselves as much as his lack of attention to the development end. The system didn't have to be barren just because he had traded a few guys.2 points

I get sentimental and wistful about the “early days“ of MLB.TV when they didn’t have much advertising and had to run the same two ED commercials over and over again.1 point

From the article: ”He was still an active member of the Mud Hens family at the time of his death, calling games as recently as Thursday. The organization sent thoughts and prayers to his family members in social media post Friday.”1 point

I hadn’t subscribed to MLB TV in yeeears. I picked it up about a month ago to see what I’ve been missing. I won’t re-up next year. The audio was more than adequate. More so now that C-Mo is out.1 point

Does disagreeing with Netanyahu on how he conducts policy (as Schumer is quoted in the article) make him "Hamas" in your view? How is Donald Trump, who is not Jewish, qualified to make judgments on who is or isn't Jewish?1 point

I feel pretty confident in saying that if Tork was both not producing results AND not putting in perceived effort to try and get better that he would’ve been demoted earlier in the season and they would’ve made an effort to deal him for something at the deadline. The reality is much more likely to be that we promoted him through the system quickly, he doesn’t have experience making a lot of adjustments as a result, struggled with timing and then pitch recognition trying to compensate, and lost confidence. He has since been trying to retool his approach in Toledo and there are obvious positives and some collateral negatives that still need to be ironed out. i wouldn’t give up on Tork at this point, but it would be responsible for the organization to both exercise some patience with him for the rest of this year and also come up with a contingency plan for 1B if he can’t recover to be what we need him to be.1 point

Kirby Puckett was a throwback to the time when batting average was king. It’s hard to keep a guy with a .318 batting average and 2,500+ hits out of the Hall. Plus he has Game 6 of the 1991 Series so he got the Fame part, too. As for Trout: he is an 86-win player. He has three MVPs, six top-5 MVP votes otherwise, and a RoY. He led the AL in OPS+ six times and runs scored four times. He amassed a 47-win five-year peak, that’s 9.5 WAR per season for five years straight. If you’re a Hall of Fame voter, you’ll be called upon to explain why you didn’t vote for Mike Trout on the first ballot.1 point

Only thing that stands out is that he’s drawing a lot of walks. Apparently he’s hitting the fastball at a good clip now, so that’s promising. Still too many Ks.1 point

has he made substantive changes? or is he just a talented guy feasting on AAA pitching who still would have same ML issues? if they limit him to 34 days more service time (So ~Sept 1 call up), they control him for 5 more seasons, not 4 that always helps, but not sure Tork is really a guy they need to worry about service time with1 point
-
I’d take him back in a heartbeat if he would obp .400 and ops .820 even if the batting average was low .200s.1 point

hard to follow but sounds like Hinch is an idiot (and a loser) because he does not have non-existent all-stars hitting behind Madris even though all know he is too good a hitter to not be protected, and Hinch and Harris are actually hoping one of their players fails; is that correct? That's an Ignore.1 point

Seasoned prosecutors love to sling mud, they just hit with a jab, take the point, and keep moving. Biden's quip about Trump/Whelan is the type of mud slinging I hope to see from Harris. I don't want her to focus her entire strategy on it, but take the opportunities when they come.1 point
