Guess I don't see these signs pointing to a Packers victory. Most of the injured players are rotational players. Look at when the Lions played the Packers in week 9. Wingo and Paschal were out just like they are now. Their starting edge players were Muhammad and Isaiah Thomas. They've now upgrade Thomas to Smith. Reader and Levi are the only ones on the DL who played but aren't available. They have since added Smith and Martin. The secondary is completely intact. Just exchange Rakestraw for Moseley. Keep in mind Branch missed half the game. On linebacker, Rodriguez was out back in week 9 just like he is this week. Only key piece is Anzalone. They added Alexander. Possibly Adams gets some snaps here as well. It's thin but not terrible. To recap, Paschal, Wingo, Rodriguez were all out the first time around. They are only missing Anzalone and Reader from the first time they played but have since added Smith (which has been a big addition), Martin, Alexander, and Adams.3 points

I don't think the "looney left" is in the Democratic Party. I think they are beyond the Democratic party. I do think they will vote for Democrats from time to time, but they are no more reliable at the polls for all Democrats than Nazi sympathizers are for all Republicans.2 points

The NBA is such a one trick pony now. Chuck threes all game. If you're lucky you have a star who can play the boring foul game. Moving screens all day and defenders have no right to their space. Having just one way to win is boring. Rant aside, you can't win if you can't rotate on defense and contest shooters. It also doesn't help if you give the ball away so they have extra possessions. It's a simple as that. It's also becoming increasingly obvious that this team has 2 backups Centers and no starter. Choose your backup between Duren and Stew, and trade the other. I'm still listening to offers for Ivey as well. I was in favor of trading one or both of them during the offseason and that hasn't changed for me. In a bubble either of them are fine in the right role, but I'm not paying them big money this offseason to lock them up as my "core".2 points

Not in the same class as an athletic play but for as important as it was to the trajectory of the season it was Trey Sweeney's catch of the popup on 21/SEP/2024 against the Orioles2 points

Got to see my oldest and her high school choir perform at Carnegie Hall earlier this week. It brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye. I’ve never had any interest in going to NYC, but ain’t no way I was missing this. Obviously the theater has its history and ambiance. Fortunately we were able to easily see her from our balcony. Then we hustled her down to Philadelphia for her final matching band performance in the Thanksgiving Day parade. It was raining and we got a bit of a late start to walk to where we thought would be a good viewing spot. We literally got to the spot just before the float in front of them. As we were approaching and couldn’t really see much, I thought for sure I heard one of their usual parade songs. We kind of lucked out to see/hear them perform one of their Christmas songs, too.2 points

That first quarter doomed the pistons. At the same time better defense would be helpful 130 is a lot of points to give up in a game.1 point

just note - this was brought to you by a Democratic dominated board of Regents. The looney left is mostly in the Democratic Party, but is not the Democratic Party. I would guess the Regents will demand more paring, not at all on philosophical grounds, but simply on economic terms. The programs cannot demonstrate their effectiveness at increasing diversity in the student body and they are costing a ton of money. There still a performance ethic at most Universities that trumps most everything else in the end. The important program is the scholarship system, and I don't think that is at risk.1 point

Yes, I disliked Murders in the Building, for one thing because I don't like mysteries per se, but for another, it's a vehicle more or less for Martin Short, who I can take maybe 15 minutes of before I run away screaming.1 point

What they did to Mike Pence was inexcusable and threatening. I just didn't think the gallows were practical or would be used for anything. If they wanted to hang him, they could have done so without the gallows. I don't think there was a plan to hang him, but all it takes is one crazy person to do something and Trump did nothing stop the rants ot the riot. In fact, he seemed to enjoy it . That is where my focus lies.1 point

But here’s the thing, Lee, …if you’re in an African-American neighborhood, and you hanging nooses from a tree, and chanting some ugly, ugly things, are the people in that neighborhood not right if they’re feeling threatened? If groups of people are carrying torches through a Hebrew section of a city, chanting “Jews will not replace us“, are those people not right to feel threatened? Setting up gallows, while you’re chanting, “hang Mike Pence”, while you’re yelling, “where is Nancy Pelosi”, …this is absolutely threatening behavior. Dismissing it as “nothing but show” is really diminishing how bloody awful that display is/was.1 point

A lot of signs are pointing to a Green Bay victory tonight. Which is usually when we see the team pull it together and provide a solid four-quarter effort. I think we see a really strong offense tonight to counter the weakened defense. Detroit 34 Green Bay 281 point

I always thought the gallows was just for show. I really doubt there were any plans to use it. I am not condoning anything that happened that day or the events that led to it. I just don't think the gallows was anything to be concerned about beyond ugly symbolism.1 point

This was a great catch by Chet Lemon. Leaping over the fence to catch it was cool, but what elevates it is Chet having the confidence and presence of mind to pause, look into the camera and call his shot right during the play. 🙂1 point

Didn't we trade up for Martin as well? Regardless though he has been a disappointment for a top 100 pick and could be a rare Holmes miss. Still time though to prove otherwise.1 point

interested to see if Broderick Martin can contribute anything with Reader and Levi and Pascal and Wingo out. If we see mostly O'Connor, that's a bad sign for Martin, a top 100 pick who hasn't done anything yet.1 point

Cooper Flagg looked really good. Of course we know the Pistons will end up with the 5th pick but throw the season in the Pooper for Cooper has now initiated.1 point

Do this. Next time Boston takes a wide open three point shot. Look at the five Pistons on the floor. I bet you any money at least one of them isn't within 10 feet of a Celtic player. But teams just keep making all of t heir shots for some reason.1 point

Bo Jackson throwing out Harold Reynolds out at the plate on a 100mph lazer bb after running 200 ft to catch a line drive at the wall in the left field corner. The end of that play was just as spectacular, the catcher (I think it was Bob Boone) was walking off the field because he thought the game was over. He had to dive back into the field of play, catch the ball, and tag Reynolds all at the same time. The whole play was absolutely incredible.1 point

They are playing better. But man, Boston is so good. Almost hard to believe their best guy isn't even playing.1 point

Aluminum bat…… hey, wait a second. Make it a wiffle ball at bat. Half of the fielders come off of the field. Opposite side of the field is out. Use lawn chairs for bases. Return the batted ball to pitcher on the mound for an out if the runners are still off base.1 point

If the Lions win the toss tomorrow, I'm hoping they receive for a change. a) it will make TP's head explode, which could be fun to witness; and b) I think Goff would lead them on a TD drive and the Lions would be playing from ahead wire to wire, instead of Love making an immediate statement against the Lions defense to start the game.1 point

The girl just informed her company she would be sticking with her December 13th retirement date. She originally planned to go last June. But they talked (guilted?) her into staying until the end of the year. They approached her again about staying into the new year and she said no. Happy for her.1 point
