Pretty cool tidbit even if minor league team record isn't always the best indicator of system strength.5 points

Random team stat - in their final 44 games of 2024 the Tigers went 31-13. Following the Dodgers sweep to start the season, the Tigers are 31-13.4 points

It is nothing but a brazen exercise to cash in at the veteran’s expense. Capitalize on their sacrifices-the American way. Two years ago the Durham Bulls, like every other opportunistic entity, were sending me emails (ticket holders) about their Armed Forces Hat grift offer. They were pushing these hats front and center on their website. I emailed the team’s GM and inquired as to what percent of the hat sale proceeds would go toward veteran’s causes. *crickets* It’s all 🐂 💩!3 points

BA just did a statcast article and compared Lee to Marcelo Mayer and said it's much closer than people think. Showed Lee is hitting the ball harder, than Mayer, but Mayer is getting better launch angle. Lee has also been unlucky on BABIP (except for the past week). Mayer's defensive versatility gives him the overall edge as a prospect, but BA thinks they are very close. Similarly, they compared Rainer and Konnor Griffin. Rainer is hitting the ball harder and has better swing decisions, and his power is a notch better, where Griffin makes better contact when he chases. They said they would pick Rainer now as a hitter and compared him to Jackson Holliday as a prospect.3 points

Is this sniveling little bitch actually as stupid as his dad? does he not realize that Jill isn’t a medical doctor? Or is this just the absolute expected classless remark from a member of the Trump clan. All of the above, I suppose.2 points

When they had the Cardinals broadcasters and Todd Jones on together, I’d have to say that I would definitely prefer having Alexa Datt on our broadcast team instead of Todd. She brings a vitality to the game that Todd lacks.1 point

What makes it interesting is that if you read novels from around the time when Scandinavians were among the most recent immigrants to MN, they're definitely portrayed as being inferior to the WASPs that were in the area first. How quickly people forget....1 point

I’m thinking the same thing. Three games against a tough team that’s been on a roll where they are thoroughly dominant at home. I’m going to check my tendency to fret and whine at the door when I enter these game threads for the next three games. I also carry virulent resentments concerning 2006 and that whiny ass bastard Tim McCarver. I am not a placid, objective observer of games with this team.1 point

The Bad - His Grifter tour in the middle east has now become so common that unfortunately it's just another daily headline you pass by. There is an argument it should have been the winner of the week of 5/12/25. But.... I'm going with his Trump and his admins attacks on Comey and other critics of his presidency, such as Gabbard calling for jail. The 8647 stuff is wild, at least IMO. I worked in a kitchen in high school so it's a term I was used to. Trump over the weekend called for investigations into celebrities that have been critical of him. I thought it was liberals that got butt hurt and were snowflakes. I even remember Palin or maybe it was her PAC putting out democrat candidates pictures in crosshairs and I do remember the left and media getting upset, but I don't remember anyone calling for jail, just that they felt it was distasteful. TJ Rollercoaster made a point that Trump/GOP see this as an opportunity to get the media focuses on this rather than what they are trying to do with policy, and in part I agree with him, but rather he's doing it just to get focus off of him or not, he is still attacking the 1st amendment.1 point

He knows Dr Jill is not a medical doctor and there is no such thing as stage five cancer. He’s purposefully marginalizing Biden and his illness with a classless joke. Millions of red hats are cackling at it.1 point

I’ve battled weight my whole life, lots of yo-yoing. It was psychological hell in the latter part of 2024, where I was stuck in this vicious mental cycle where I wanted so badly to lose weight but couldn’t get past the mental block of thinking it was just too much and I was incapable. Finally, October 18, 2024, I started calorie counting. I can’t tell you why that date, I just took the step. I didn’t tell anyone, not even my girlfriend of two years, for a month. I joined a local CrossFit gym in December, and it absolutely Kicked. My. Ass. But I kept going back. I was 312.4 on 10/18. As of this morning I’m 260.6. Down 51.8 pounds. I’m not sure my end goal, but I do think saying I lost 100 pounds would be cool. I’ve told a few people. Thought I would share here. 🙂1 point
