  1. Pretty sure the Biden presidency has ended. Maybe you should venture into the Trump presidency thread and tell us how the brilliant Trump's tariffs are working out.

  3. Tor just handed out a $500M contract and they are 1 games out of the Wild Card. For them to trade their starting SS, Harris would have to give them ML pieces that improves their team now. I think there's a match, but very difficult.

  5. There are politicians that I don't agree with AND I don't like. Tlaib is one of them. I don't think she is a good person AND I don't think she's particularly smart. But blaming her for Trump....hahaha. That's hilarious. Because she wouldn't fall in line with Harris...just laughable. Kamala lost ground on middle eastern voters in Tlaib's district because many shared Tlaib's outrage regarding Gaza. Instead of Kamala finding a way to bridge that gap, she felt those votes were still guaranteed and chose to pander to the opposite side, trying to get more votes there. Honestly I haven't even looked at the numbers, it may not have even been that bad of a decision. Ultimately that was a DNC/Kamala determination though.

  17. Ultimately any grievance he has is for him to sort out. This isn't a public interest issue. It's not a government entity falsy accusing or holding him to a standard he may not deserve so it's not really our business. It's not about "justice". Is it a crime if an organization says "We don't want that baggage?" It's a risk they are taking in not making their team better and they weight that against public sentiment. Teams decided it's not worth it. That's how life works. He could sue them. He hasn't.

  18. Jung's a bust. We should have taken Neto. I'm still complaining about that one. Much worse bluer than Jobe over Mayer. But Al had Javy penciled in and made the mistake of not taking the best talent but chose for position. Harris and the good GM's don't do that.

  19. Liranzo and Briceño are at least three years behind Jung on the prospect continuum and they and have not had their shot at the majors yet, so, probably not a fair compare.

  20. The one baseball cliche that always seems to end up being true is "you can never have enough starting pitching". I think many Tigers fans took that for granted cause of how fortunate we were during the glory 2010 years in regards to the health of our rotation.

  21. But again, Toronto is 1.5 games out of the wild card. Historically they've been more about trying to win now, than moving toward the future. And making that trade this year makes them worse this year.

  22. And all Jung has done has hit since going back to Toledo. He just hasn't found his power in his limited AB's in the majors. I think he does have value - obviously not Clark, McGonigle, Rainer, Briceno, Lizarno value, but he comes in next IMO and is the only one I'd trade of that bunch for a rental.

  23. I jammed my right shoulder once playing pick up football. Couldn't raise my arm for a week. Went from being a slo-pitch CF with a gun to a noodle arm 1st baseman. One of the great athletic tragedies of the 1980's. I hope Rainer has better luck

  26. Welcome to being a good franchise. We are going to lose people to free agency. We are going to lose coordinators. Good/great players are going to retire. What good GM's do is they replenish constantly in the draft. With the salary cap it is essential to have good to great drafts to constantly be a good team. I know last year didn't look like a good draft but that can change very quickly. With the Lions not having that once in a lifetime QB, they need to be a top 3 team on drafting and developing players to be a superbowl contender for years to come. Free agency and trades should only be used to plug a couple of holes by players leaving or injuries. I honestly think if they had a normal injury year or even just a bad year (not one of the worst ever) they would of won the superbowl. Philly stayed relevantly healthy. I think the biggest question to have right now, is do you want them to spend the extra cap space this year and go all in. Or do you want them to be patient and transfer it to next year so they can retain their own players. I personally would like them to take a chance and go get a player like Hendrickson, knowing they will most likely lose a player like Jamo or Laporta. My thought is if Brad is as good as he has been he will replace those players in the draft. I still have in Brad I trust if he doesn't though. If we don't win the superbowl in the next two years, my trust in him will go down some. My trust right now in Brad is a 9 out of 10. If we don't win in the next two years it will go down to a 6-7.

  30. No, but I want to see more of Sweeney before giving up there. His 2025 Rdrs isn't good, but his overal Rdrs over the 92 games he has played as a pro in only -2 and he hasn't played the position in the majors for even a full season yet. It would be nice to see a stronger arm, probably not much hope that will change. On the offensive side, his May was better than his April, he does stand in well against LHP and his K rate is reasonable. The down side is his walk rate is poor. But since, as accurately pointed out, he wouldn't bring much in trade, and there still a reasonable hope about his upside, I think we keep playing him for the time being and see how he trends. And with Meadows and Perez back in the OF, McKinstry and Baez are going to start taking some of his AB at SS just in the normal course anyway.

  35. I don't even get the point for the activist. The proof she's not a serious person is right there if she can't think her way to the conclusion that she has more chance of her views influencing policy under an administration of her own party. Again, it's the primacy of the gesture, the performance, the public bow, and the ego massage associated, and the lack of concern or maybe understanding, of the actual outcome. And in the end she is only the reflection of the same intellectual rot infecting her constituency, which is just a slice of the larger messed up in the head and heart US public.

  43. This story just hurts my heart. A guy in Wisconsin robbed and beat a migrant. The guy gets arrested and the migrant was ready to testify against the guy. The guy then frames the migrant by writing a letter in the migrant’s name making a death threat against Trump, a totally made-up thing, and mails it to the local ICE office so the migrant can be deported before he testifies. The guy’s whole point was to be set free. The administration, of course, loves to believe stuff like that and arrests the migrant. They even issued a press release trumpeting the migrant’s arrest. Dogshooter Noem puts her ugly Botox face on the whole story. Then the guy gets busted for lying and is now facing additional charges for the frame-up. But here’s the kicker: the administration is still holding the migrant for making death threats against Trump, they are still going forward with his deportation hearing, and they still have the press release on the DHS website. We all pretty much know what’s going to happen next. Man admits to attempting to frame migrant accused of threatening Trump, prosecutors say
