That’s a great return for the Lions. Much more than I thought they’d get.4 points

That’s why you sign Campbell to an extension. Same with Gibbs. Those 5 th year options aren’t cheap. You can create more immediate space signing them now than waiting. Gibbs contract is going to set the market. Do it before the Falcons set the market with Robinson.3 points

I have a funny: I'm at my pickleball class with my spouse. The overbearing instructor who is really annoying me by stopping the flow of the class every 5 minutes with an observation like: "Does anyone know why its called a backhand?" and I'm at the point where i'm Bill Murraying the thing now. "Did they name it after Doctor John Backhand?" Anyway...he's stopping us to talk about buying our own racquets. The one lady tells him that she used AI to identify which one to buy and I said: "Did it tell you to bomb Iran?" and the instructor guy was not happy with that. Everyone else laughed though. Last class for me...2 points

That 2nd half defense was about as good as I've seen the Pistons play all season. Championship caliber defense.2 points

Great breakout by him in the first to get their first goal going too, spun off a forechecker nicely then got the puck up to Finnie1 point

Sad to see Montgomery go. He was a cornerstone of the turnaround. But they got way more than I could have imagined. At this point, OL no longer has any gaping holes. It could be improved, but they do not enter the draft being backed into the corner to fix it.1 point

For anyone who has paid the slightest attention to DJT's career, he's always felt slighted. Even in his own family, he was the second son, the trouble maker, only to recieve a bit of attention when his brother left the family business. He was never accepted by NYC's "elite" society. Given that he's obviously a deeply troubled narcissist, it's not surprising what is happening today. Not just with Iran, but his entire presidency. He's basically attracting the same sort of people that resemble him1 point

I like to compare pitching to distance running as I am very familiar with the stresses of the latter. It's not the same because throwing different kinds of pitches with maximun intensity strains your arm more than the repetive motion of running. However, I think of frequency and duration of running is analagous to the frequency and duration of pitching. I think that running 33 half marathons in six months versus running 70 5ks in six months would each put a different kind of stress on the joints. Starting pitching has the risk of cumulative long-term wear and tear whereas relief pitching has more risk of acute injury due to max intensity and shorter recovery. Both are big risks, but I think that the routine of being a starting pitcher is easier to manage than the erratic use of relievers. There are pros and cons of each, but I don't think using a young pitcher in short relief versus starting is keeping him safer.1 point

To the list below we can add: Iran's nuclear capabilities were totally obliterated. Golden Oldies (some of which we have already seen again): We don't want the next smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud. We will be hailed as liberators. Military action will cost between $10 and $100B, but no more. Mission Accomplished.1 point

Some libs were owned so this is worth it. No one wants this war or knows why we are there, but it’s the price of freedom.1 point

Absolutely agree with you and I don't want to see Montgomery elsewhere either, but we currently have a gluttony at RB, so from Montgomery's perspective alone, I understand if he wants a deal to protect his family financially. We'll lose our advantage at RB, but if we focus on the offensive line we might still have a solid rushing offense and be able to focus on other areas we can take advantage in.1 point

My tax dollars are paying for a war that this government hasn't spent a single second trying to justify. So yeah, you're GD right I care if our government is wasting money and lives on a pointless war.1 point

Love the group setting. I’m working in the middle of nowhere for a year long assignment. Very isolating. This community is getting me through it. Dying in the daily workout is my favorite part of the day! At the world premiere of 26.1, only two of the four “fittest people in the world” got through the entire workout. Not me lol My quads feel it today!1 point

Awesome. Stick with it. Being in a group setting can be a game changer. We call that format a pyramid and we never seem to get thru them all. But we will have 6-7 exercises and do either 1 to ten reps then backdown or 5-10-15-20-15-10-5. The transition is considered cheap cardio.1 point

We work our tail off to cut it to one and then the other team hits two strait threes. When you don't have shooters to respond, that feels like a gut punch. One thing I will say about the Pistons is they never waiver on defense. It's very impressive the effort they give on a nightly basis for an NBA team.1 point

he wasnt responding to bonghit. i think its inevitable that the pistons re-sign duren. and i also think he's getting the max or close to it. so is ausar. its the easiest thing to do, so that's what will be done. i think gores will pay over the tax. spending money has never been his weakness. his weakenss is vanity and his sister in law...1 point

I would pay Ausar before Duren, but I wouldn't give him a max deal either. But a wing defender is much more valuable that a center that can't shoot. Ausar can guard the other teams best offensive player about 95% of the time. I think people really sleep on that skill. He can guard Jalen Brunson to Luka and everyone in-between. The few guys he can't guard are Victor or Jokic. But other than SA and Denver, Ausar will guard every other title contenders best offensive player.1 point

Yes, Montgomery was upset about a lack of carries. Yes, he probably said use me or trade me. Yes, the Lions probably said we want to keep you but if you insist on a trade we will honor it. Yes, the Lions want to establish that they are not going to cut him or give him away. Unsaid in the whole thing is that the Lions didn't go away from him because they think he lost a step. They went away from him because their offensive efficiency went way down, as did their total number of carries overall. They were relying on Gibbs to try to manufacture offense because their OL and blocking schemes were trash. I doubt he will be traded and I hope he is not.1 point
