I think we absolutely need to stop with the political “what ifs”. If he’s deserving of being indicted, they need to just do it. There’s not gonna be a good time or bad time. There would always be another reason to put it off. Enough.5 points

The Supreme Court rejecting Roe may have been the greatest thing that could have happened for Democratic prospects in this election. Had they waited to release that decision until later in their cycle (i.e., now) I think we may have seen a much redder turnout. I also tend to agree that a slight GOP majority in the house probably does prove advantageous to 2024. Nothing of significance was going to be passed with a slight majority House and Senate, for either party. Controlling three branches would have led to calls of a do-nothing party in 2024. The GOP will demonstrate just how discombobulated their party is, and how lacking in policy objectives they are. It will be fuel for the Dems in 24, regardless of who tops the ticket.4 points

It's also possible people turned out for Kemp and checked Walker and aren't motivated to turn out just for Walker.2 points

So I just looked at this and realized something: Whitaker played in 19 seasons and clocked three wins or better in 15 of those seasons. Of the four he did not, one of them, 1977, was a cup of coffee season, and two others, 1994 and 1995, were—well, not just his age 37 and 38 seasons, his final two, but also truncated seasons due to the owner’s lockout. He definitely would have had more than three WAR in 1994. Nineteen-eighty was the only season he “had no excuse”. Just … dayum.2 points

Four best Tigers: Cobb Kaline Gehringer Greenberg I often think of the Mt Rushmore question as best players from different eras. So, I might drop Greenberg and replace him with Whitaker. I'd rather just put the best four on there though.2 points

You couldve legit handed somebody that knew nothing about baseball the list of players in each teams system that was available to us in each trade, then told them to randomly pick names from that list and I can almost guarantee we wouldve ended up getting a better return on the trades than Avila got.1 point

Justin Verlander has 21.6 WAR at Houston. We are still hoping we might get a platoon catcher out of the deal.1 point

For starters cause pitchers are ticking time bombs for another is that you have to give something of value to get something. Sure it would be nice to trade all our mediocre 40 grade prospects for a proven commodity but that's not realistic. To get a good to great young veteran its going to take a premium prospect.1 point

I wouldn't say I was disappointed when I heard Harris talking about Cabrera's commitment to his off-season program, but it didn't inspire confidence that he understood the problem. Miguel's commitment to work is not the question, it's that as soon as he starts playing, the knee starts to deteriorate again - so it doesn't seem to matter how dedicated he is or how well conditioned he is when he arrives, history argues that playing the game is likely going to put him back into deficit territory once the season starts.1 point

If a runoff is what is going to happen, they’ll be a very large Republican effort, but don’t expect to actually hear Herschel‘s name. They’ll be pounding the bricks and saying “you need to vote for “the Republican!”They’re not even gonna mention his name, but just point to the fact that “we need Republican votes”.1 point

MCS might appreciate this. The intersection of Telegraph and Van Born is a disaster because of Telegraph construction. The light going west is like 4 seconds green. Always a backup. On Sunday there was a longer backup than normal as they were laying blacktop and this typical Trumpy pickup truck with flags/decals tried to pull out then cut back in via the left hand turn lane. I squeezed ahead of him as he tried to get in front of me and I yelled out a "Let's Go Brandon" at him. He flipped me off and honked repeatedly.1 point

I still say the funniest line in Major League is when they call Lou about managing the team. "Oh I don't know..... I got a guy on the other line about some white walls, I'll call you back"1 point

Dr. Oz........I know you're down today and when a lot of people are down they turn to food - comfort food. Go ahead and tuck in, buddy, because after the break I am going to let you know about a miracle pill from the banks of the Zambezi River in Botswana that will keep that weight off, Stay Tuned ! We can even have the pills shipped directly and discretely to your home in New Jersey.1 point

If Biden has any big ideas he wants to get through he'd better do it in the next 2 months because after that nothing is going to get done. Even things that make sense will be stopped out of pure spite. I think he got most of what he wanted in the first 2 years. There will be a government shutdown at some point with a Republican Congress unless you can find 2 or 3 of them with common sense. Good luck with that. The budge deficit is like the Salary Cap in the NFL, it's a cute idea, but ultimately does it even matter?1 point

My advice: watch this ridiculous MAC game on ESPN. Its not something anyone would care to see on a normal night. Its got a lot of scoring. It probably ends with one of the teams winning tonight and not on Saturday after a grueling ordeal of vote counting and accusations.1 point

Yeah, if all I did was read threads on this board the last several election days, I would have expected a Dem wipeout in every one. They'd have 60+ seats by now, and we'd be coming up on Year 7 of Hillary.1 point

Yeah, stacking the starting lineup and leaving the bench bereft of any useful players was always a poor strategy. Granted, having Burks and Bagley out of the lineup makes putting together quality rotations together a task but Casey has found a way to make the worst of these rotations. Still not a fan of Bey and Bojan in the same rotation, kind of redundant.1 point

if there is some stupid memo written decades ago that says presidential candidates cannot be charged with a crime to protect them from politicized DOJ, Garland should literally burn that memo on TV, and proclaim the American people deserve to be protected from criminals1 point
