Sheila is quickly stacking up some wins. She deserves a ton of credit for this success. Every card she’s flipped since flushing Quintricia has been aces. Sure, it’s a miniature bar but she’s already become the best owner in town.4 points

He probably used a department computer to send an email to other coaches promoting the idea of running a trick play the first time Michigan was down near the goal line vs TCU. Lock him up.2 points

People made up their minds on Goff when he was brought over from the Rams. Then when he was given the likes of Khadarel Hoge and Tom Kennedy as his top receivers, they were like see. The season he had this year was as good as just about any Stafford season. He couldn't play well without Gurley and McVay and he completely blew up that narrative.2 points

The Putin thugs in the GOP and on the horseshoe left need to step back and understand that isolationism sells to the rubes but in a crunch we need alliances and those alliances need to be based on principles. Just because the billionaire fueled McCarthy Republicans don't have any principles doesn't mean that the majority of the country doesn't root for Ukraine and understand that there but for the grace of God and the St. Javelin go us.2 points

The law firm of Castro, Castro and Reyes going 3/3 on landing minor league deals remains the least surprising development of the offseason. Low key one of the bigger indictments of Avila that each got as many chances as they did1 point

i love 84lives' lists! the hardest choice on those lists is whether casey mize or tarik skubal is going to win more cy young awards.1 point

I enjoy the individual player write-ups. I don’t give a shit about their rankings, whether within the organization or compared to other teams prospects.1 point

The lists are fun, but I think it would be sufficient to just have tiers. I want to know which Tigers prospects have a chance to be stars, which have a chance to be starters, which have a chance to make the majors. Those might not be the exact tiers, but something like that. I don't need to see a rank attached to their name. I just want to know which ones to follow most closely.1 point

if the lions think they can develop richardson (or levis...or hooker) into a top qb in 3 years they should draft one of them.1 point

10 teams had the same starting QB for every game this season. 8 of them made the playoffs. Any guesses on the 2 that missed?1 point

Regarding The Queen's Gambit.... I'm not a chess person at all and I loved it so don't let that stop you. It hooked me immediately. The Crown on Netflix is good.1 point

The Shield - Hulu - One of the best cop shows ever. Justified - Hulu - Another really strong law enforcement show Queens Gambit - Netflix - Might not like it if you don't like chess Yellowjackets - Showtime - The Bear was my second favorite new show last year. Yellowjackets was my first. Showtime has a free 30 day trial. Cobra Kai - Netflix - Cheesy, corny, way over the top. But it works. I binge it within 2 or 3 days of a new season being released. Righteous Gemstones - HBO - Danny McBride making fun of televangelists. Any show with John Goodman is good. Edi Patterson is amazing in this. Eastbound and Down - Another Danny McBride series. Godless - Netflix Ozark - Netflix 1883 - Paramount Ted Lasso - Apple TV -1 point

As someone who still has some level of question on Goff (his home/away splits still concern me a bit) I would NOT want to see the Lions draft a QB in round 1 as a backup/developmental guy. If you're taking a QB that high you're taking him as the projected starter in a year (or 2 at the most) I feel. Right now, even with my nagging doubts, I'm more than happy to ride Goff in 2023. I would MUCH rather use those high picks for players who can make an impact now (especially on defense) vs. someone who can help in the future. I would not be opposed to taking a flyer on a high risk/high reward sort of QB who we can maybe develop into Goff's replacement when/if Goff fades down the line... as well as to have as a solid backup in case of injury... but I'd prefer not to spend any more than a late 2nd round as most. Having said all that... I'm more than willing to defer to Holmes and co.'s judgement on players.1 point

When it happened I assumed Shepherd was a stop gap and that they would eventually go get a pro. Disappointing that they seem to think he is actually up to the task. Or maybe they are too cheap to land a top talent. I get the impression they have drawn the wrong conclusion from the historic success of George Kell and Al Kaline. They were not loved because they were folksy locals, although that did happed to be true, but because they did a good baseball broadcast - even despite Al's questionable elocution.1 point

They see something special being built here and want to be a part of it. I know most Lions fans have PTSD from the past and I get it but football people actually want to be here now, get used to it. I also think Sheila probably gave him quite a bag to convince him to stay. Probably wishful thinking but I wonder if their own free agents will take a bit of a discount to stay. I see Williams and Cominsky as possible candidates to take a bit of a paycut to be a part of this.1 point

The Michigan Lottery has a daily "spin to win" game and I do that daily. It takes 20 seconds and if I win free plays, great. If I win a "2 dollars off a 20 dollar purchase" that goes unused. Ironically, my wife, who is really good at math, still buys a couple "Lucky for Life" tickets a month. If a jackpot goes really high, I'll spend two bucks just for fun but am fully cognizant that my odds are not any better and it would be just as effective to give that money to an intersection beggar.1 point

Netflix: Dead To Me (haven't watched the latest season yet, but enjoyed the previous two.) I think You Should Leave ("sketch" comedy and it's not for everyone. Very short episodes.) The Mole (recent reboot of the reality series) Hulu: Reservation Dogs is supposed to be good. Haven't watched it myself yet. The Old Man (Jeff Daniels is great in this.) What We Do In The Shadows Prime: Marvelous Mrs Maisel Reacher Jack Ryan Upload The Boys Invincible (animated and very violent, but excellent)1 point

I am thankful for the Fanduel "seed" money I received when Ohio went live on January 1. It has allowed me to realize (unsurprisingly) that I am a terrible sports gambler without actually losing any of my own money. The "free bets" expire at the end of January, which will mark the end of my sports betting career as well.1 point

At the U there are IT policies you can violate, which would put you at risk of Univeristy sanctions, and then of course there are crimes. Something that got elevated from ITS (internal IT) to UMDPSS would seem to be on crimey side but there could be some grey areas - for instance if you used a U account in some way that was an alleged Title IX violation I could see that ending up at UMDPSS.1 point

I'm shocked he would already close the door on head coaching opportunities this year. Not only do players want to stay in Detroit, now coaches do.1 point

I also just want to add that I'm clearly happy with Hutch and I think he is the total package I also think it's too soon to write off Walker and Thibs and just anoint Hutch the victor out of the three cause we have to remember that Hutch was always seen as the most pro ready guy while the other two were more raw so it should be expected that Hutch had the strongest 1st year. Lets see in a couple years where things stand. I have a feeling that in the end all 3 teams will be happy with the players they got although some of Thibs actions on the field kinda concern me like making the "go to sleep" sign while the qb is getting carted off the field, but for now I'll just chalk that up to immaturity.1 point
