All DeSantis is going to do is split off the vote from Trump. He's going to get the people who want the Trumpism without the Trump, and Trump is going to keep the people who want the Trump. The thing to remember is that they are never going to expand that base. All the people who want fascism are already in. No one who doesn't want fascism now is going to want fascism in a year and a half. Since they can't win a free and fair election, I believe the only way they can get people in line is to steal the election and then use force to impose minority fascist rule on the majority. Otherwise, how else do they win?

I generally disllike all films about musicians that don't do justice to the musician's music and virtually none ever do because any musician famous enough to have a film made about them was a singular talent whose performance you can't duplicate within your film - unless you use real footage, and then you've made a documentary, which is probably the lesser evil..

Side note. I know a number of families who adopted from Africa, Korea and Philippines. Talking to them they said generally its easier to adopt from overseas than from the U.S. I find that very sad. Gay or straight everyone needs a family.

This I believe will be the deciding point for the Lions. If he's only guilty of misdemeanors, and nothing else, he'll get his second chance, or actually first, in the NFL. As he should. But I think Holmes/ Campbell/ Ford firmly believe each of their players have character, integrity, be a leader, and have a serious love for the game. Maybe not every single player hits every one of those traits. But, at least on the surface, it appears that Carter is showing a serious lack of judgement, of character, and of integrity. And a "pattern" to that, which makes it even worse. Add that to a lack of commitment to the team/ football (if that is true) and it's an absolute that he is being removed from the Lions' Board. They still need to research all of that. But, again, from appearances sake... It looks like he has removed himself from the Lions' Draft Board, 2023. Based on multiple issues... and not necessarily those misdemeanors in and of themselves.

Just had a chance this morning to watch Holmes and Campbell speaking yesterday. I haven't seen anyone mention that Levi's name came up. He is on track in his rehab and in the team facilities... Nice to see him not just giving up. Would be great if he could even just turn into a depth piece on the defensive line.

Was anyone enthused when they signed John Cominsky? No. But he turned out to be one of the team’s most valuable defensive players. They didn’t say they were sitting out free agency, but they did say they will fill roles and not look to one FA signing to get them over the hump. That makes perfect sense. And if they can fill holes through FA, Holmes has demonstrated that he will be aggressive to get game changing players through the draft. I think this will be a fascinating draft for Lions fans, and I suspect Holmes will make at least one major move that catches everyone by surprise.

Hronek is 25 and has shown the ability to improve. I don't think this is the fleecing people think it is. I love Stevie. It makes sense as the Wings can easily replace him. But Hronek isn't a terrible player. He is a young guy with upside.

I would guess Yzerman still has bad dreams about the pre Bowman teams that were improving but would go into Edmonton and get beat up in the playoffs for the same reasons. His own team had to get a lot stronger before they won as well (Federov, Fetisov, Shanahan, McCarty, Chelios, etc...) so he knows the drill.
