The value you get back was not significant enough to sacrifice contention in 2026. They signed Framber and wanted to win.. Trading him was a bad business move.5 points

the confusion about the SOH is real, and the media is not really interested in figuring out what is actually happening. Problem is, do you believe the corrupt, totalitarian regime? or do you believe Iran? No good choices.3 points

So, when Rudy croaks, you think Obama will tweet out that he's glad he is dead? Now he can't hurt anyone else? No. Of course not. Only assholes would do that.2 points

Pitchers are always a risk, but they absolutely made the right move. Once they signed Valdez, there was no question keeping Skubal was the right thing to do.2 points

I have to imagine the Wings are trying to move one of their top 3 goalie prospects this offseason for immediate help. Guimond, Pradel and Gylander all showed some promise last season too I thought. It is a bit insane the goalie prospect depth they've built up, hope they can weaponize it.2 points

The only problem (OK - not the *only* problem) with MTGs epiphany is that if she were a more serious person she would have stayed in the House and kept up the opposition. But it points up how hard it is for the blue side to actually move these people to their side. Trump is losing support among people like Green who have come to oppose him on an issue, e.g. Green on Epstein, Carlson on Iran, but who still support too much of the remaining RW agenda to ever actually vote on the blue side. A couple of generations ago, when political difference weren't so culturally conditioned, it was a lot easier to get people to change parties over policy issues. Today getting a person across the divide is tied up in personal identity issues as well as policy preferences.2 points

i wonder if they are demoralized after the skubal news. i could see how they would be, but also how they would rally. who knows1 point

I would bet Skubal will make it back much quicker than anybody can guess. Weeks...not months. That's my mindset...not going out on a ledge.1 point
-
I am confident the Tigers will survive and Skubal will return, but because of this he will only be able to go 5 innings in the deciding game of a playoff series, not 6.1 point

He can go to the AHL next season without passing through waivers, goalies get their ELC plus one year before they lose their exempt status. His ELC slid two seasons so right now he's in the third year of it.1 point

When we began downsizing, I got rid of burdensome things like lawn mower and snow blower. The yard we have now could easily be done with a rotary mower, I still have a weed wacker and snow shovel. The snow stuff did little good this past season as our two bad weekends were mostly ice. Will occasionally use the trimmer to clean up after the sub's lawn crew. My dad was in the lawn service business long before it became somewhat profitable (has it ever been?) Getting drug outs of bed at 5 AM is no way inspire a 14 year old to go into the business.1 point
