Huron Valley called me and asked if I could foster Lucy while she goes through her medical crisis. I said yes. If am a foster I won't have to pay for the medical issues but I can give her a home with a yard and a companion. I could adopt her after that if her health allows it. I know I am setting myself up for another heartbreak, but going through what she is, and as sweet as she is, she needs some comfort in her life. If things work out she could survive for a long time. I am going to get her on Saturday morning. I don't think I would experience the kind of heartbreak I had with Diego. He was my best friend for 15 years. If I can make her last months or years happy, why wouldn't I? In honor of Diego.4 points

maybe Hinch told Coolbaugh not to talk to Carpenter?3 points

They did that biopsy on Lucy for a mass in her chest and it turns out that it was a malignant tumor. She'll probably have it removed this week and we'll see how it goes from there. Poor girl. If they think she can recover I'm still probably going to adopt her and even if she has a short time I might be willing to give her a nice place to live for the end of her short life if they don't recommend euthanizing her immediately.3 points

I thought the second episode of HK was good. Not as fun to watch as the first with the novelty wearing off, but still good. I think the bit in the linebackers room where the room gets chastised for a 6th round pick outperforming them says a lot about that room (more than anything Campbell or Holmes say publicly). The bit at the end with Hank Fraley and his son was cute. Would have loved to have my dad be an NFL coach as a kid LOL.1 point

I'm all for bridging the gap to the next 2Bman, but I'd like to see them take a flier on someone younger who at least has some chance to turn into a long-term solution or perhaps a backup. Andrus (or anyone else in baseball for that matter) might be better than Schoop might be for the balance of this year and next, but he has exactly zero chance to be a good player of any kind again. We have to use our options wisely, and Andrus ain't it IMO.1 point

Picking up Zach Plesac because he was facing the Tigers backfired for my fantasy team. Maybe if I did that every game, they would be playoff bound.1 point

Follow the Rangers a decent amount because of where I live... one just imagines he'll be floated as a candidate, yet the Rangers period of sucking overlaps pretty neatly on the Tigers. Which should not work in his favor at all.1 point

Oh great news on Simon! I was mildly worried because I found no info on it yesterday. Food poisoning it sounds like? Looks like he's healed 😂1 point

You know what else works great? Simply getting over when you see the signs that a lane is closing instead of racing up to the front...just a thought.1 point

I can admit that this used to be me. Now I get angry at those people that are doing nothing but artificially moving the merge point way back from where it should be. I've done a lot of roads trips over the last month, so I can't remember where I saw it, but they actually had signs telling people that a lane closure was coming but NOT to merge yet. Then at the last 1000 feet or so, there was a "zipper now" sign. There wasn't much traffic at the time, so I can't really say if the signage really helped at all, but I thought it was a great idea.1 point

On the contrary, with the way some folks have talked about Carpenter since the call up, I'm surprised he's even ranked 15th.1 point

It seems strange to have Carpenter and Perez down there at 15 and 16, when you consider the quantum leaps that they have made this year. They have vastly exceeded their expectations at high levels of competition but they are still ranked behind some guys who have not played professionally at at all, or who have not set the world on fire at Lakeland. It is all just speculation of course.1 point

That all I really want to see from Tork for a while - regain command of the k-zone. That has been his calling card when he's successful.1 point

Aside from Crouch's nice game... Dylan Smith got the start for WM and 5 inn's, 1 ER on 5 hits and 0 BB's, and 6 K's...1 point

Another strong performance from E.Rodriguez forToledo tonight. Six innings, one run and 11 strikeouts. If he bounces back, if Skubal doesn’t need Tommy John surgery and if Turnbull recovers, the starting pitching should be much improved next year. A lot of if, but ... Now how about a couple of righthanded thumpers in the off-season. Austin Meadows should bounce back from injuries on the left side, and his brother may not be far away. Hope is eternal!1 point

Sounds about right...I think I'd give Perez, Dingler and Colt a bit more time, maybe a Sept call up. I advocate using this opportunity to make value acquisitions and trades for younger veterans that wont hold any prospects back. There might be a Carlos Guillen out there.1 point

I get major Rick Porcello vibes watching Hill from the CF cam. Not necessarily his stuff or anything even though the low 90s FB is similar but just the way he looks, his profile and some of his mannerisms.1 point

I think criticizing that deal is just hindsight. Schoop was more than worth it if he even approached his norms.1 point

It wasn't the democratic party. It was the state elections canvassing board. They certify ballot signatures. Craig and the others submitted fraudulent signatures and didn't have enough valid signatures. Therefore their nominations weren't valid. This is another attempt to "both sides" something with zero evidence. Nobody "went after" Craig.1 point

I'm glad you're sticking with it. It's a long road but eventually you hit that "ah ha" moment. Then you'll have many more long roads that become easier to navigate as you go along and the "ah ha" moments will be more satisfying. I'm on the precipice of an "ah ha" moment....(I can feel it) and I've been playing since 1979.1 point

No real update to provide. I'm like the lessons well enough, but I'm not doing anything exciting. Just learning the strings and chords. July was a bit of a setback. I had COVID and then was travelling once I recovered. Not much practice time or lessons, so picking it back up after that I had some catching up to do.1 point
