  2. Glad you get to experience it. If you are there long enough, just know minor league games on the back fields are free.

  3. Someone also mention a college ad also causing issues? Ideally you'd think I could go into Google AdSense and see all the ads that are running and pick and choose which ones I want to run or not but if that option exists, I don't know where to find it. I've learned in my years working with Google products for my personal and professional endeavors, they make nothing easy to find and/or understand. When I looked into these issues on Monday with my iPhone, I experienced the same problems. Landscape did seem to help me, but I also wasn't able to figure out where to click the ads off. So that's why I turned it off and will look into it more when I return from vacation next week. Sorry for the issues, it's never my intention to make the site difficult to navigate.

  4. My softball story....I was in a league where just over the left field fence (standard 5 foot chainlink fence) was a playground for little kids. Big guys would regularly hit homeruns right onto the playground where the kids were playing. I wrote to the city telling them about the danger but heard nothing back. After the next ball landed in the playground I wrote them again. I was seriously scared for the kids and must have written 5 or 6 times through out the summer. In my last message to them I noted that I was keeping a copies of all my messages to them and when a kid is ultimately hit and killed, I will give it to whatever lawyer is representing the kid's parents. The fence was extended 20 feet higher within the week.

  5. An update on the linked story: UPDATE 11:58 a.m. ET: Fox 13 has added an editor’s note to its story. “A representative for Terrion Arnold responded and clarified that Hudson is not a security guard for Arnold, and that Williams is not Arnold’s cousin,” the note explains.

  6. I turned off Vignette ads on Monday because Google does not make it easy (if you can at all) to identify specific ads that are causing issues and eliminate them, so I stopped them all. This issue should have been resolved then... If you are still getting them, then it's Google screwing us. There has been a drop in revenue in the past two days which reflects the changes I've made. I'm currently on vacation and don't have a lot of time to deal with this issue, but I'll check again and see if there is any additional changes I can make. Hopefully this resides soon... Maybe a cache refresh is need on users end?

  7. Here's a sentence I never thought I'd write: I'm pretty sure the head of the MLBPA can bang as many of his sisters-in-law as he wants without losing his job the problem is, he had an inappropriate relationship with a union employee, who happens to be his sister-in-law

  10. OK... so go easy on me here... I'm a rookie fan in spring training, never done this before. And my digital camera is a little crappy so, did the best that I could. Plus, we're behind a chain link fence when they're practicing in the distance so... no closeups here. I did crop some photos to sort of "zoom" in, although that might affect the quality a bit (makes it blurry?) Well... since I fibbed already... when the guys were walking to the field they pass right by so all the autograph-seekers are lined up (I don't really pursue autographs so I was just happy to take some photos.... I was on the minor league/ catchers & pitchers side today, tomorrow or Wednesday I'll go back and take some photos from the Major Leaguers side... One last thing, I don't know many of the minor leaguers by facial recognition, and not all of the Detroit Tigers... But just wanted to share some spring training photos... Best I could do... I'll try to describe what little I can. Also... met a "veteran" spring training dude, Norm, who was as nice as anybody I've ever met... he talked me through some of the "do this, not that" of spring training. Talked me into a Thursday BBQ with the team as well (run by the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce). Free food & beer for the minor leaguers so they'll mostly show up, a few of the MLB guys too. I'm not a big autograph guy so I'll be happy to just sit and shoot the breeze with whoever is there.

  11. If anyone knows what "the best team money can buy" looks like, its an ohio state football fan. 🙂 This is the new Michigan hater narrative. mercenaries. best team money can buy. All the best teams are "the best teams money can buy." duke? come on. Michigan's most talented team - the fab five - was paid for by ed martin. a young Lew Alcindor was taking a bag at ucla. Its ALWAYS been the "best team money can buy", the only difference now is that you buy a new team every year. at least you do if youre smart and want to win. putting together a team and coaching it is impressive. it's very impressive what michigan and dusty may have done.

  13. They don’t need a football guy. Wood ran the business side of things. No way they should bring a football guy outside of the organization and put him higher up than Holmes.

  14. Don't most US born Olympians that represent other countries do so because it's their path to qualifying? It isn't some slap in the face to the country, but NOC's are just limited in how many they can send.

  18. Both sides...That's funny. That's the point. Read the names. Hundreds of names from both sides. What did the rest on both sides do? They took their campaign money, passes laws to enrich them, put their names on buildings, and even appoint them to high important positions. They all knew and did nothing, and even went as far as to help cover up what these sick ****s did over the last 20+. And now they all just lie to us and expect us to eat their ****. Both sides. **** them. I know it's tough when the people you adore and worship turn out to be giant pieces of steaming poo, but this is where we are. People should demand justice, no matter what "side" is in power. They both have failed, and failed miserably, while more people were sexually abused, and who knows what else (it just keeps getting uglier). They didn't care, they let it go on. They need to pay. I get it, that's a tall order when so many are guilty, and others are afraid to say anything because it could cost them their life. Don't care, where are the handcuffs. Us serfs should demand no less, and it's one thing they should all be able to agree on. The first, the last, and everyone in between. Nothing less is acceptable.

  23. There is a rumor that Alito will retire very soon. They want to get out in front of the house going blue and possibly the senate as well. I'm sure they will nominate an early 40 something to get 20 plus years out of them.

  30. My one and only conspiracy theory in life (if you can call it that, maybe it’s just a soap box) is that I don’t think those GLP-1s are well tested enough as to the long-term side effects for long-term use for obesity. I’m worried what will happen in the next 10-15 years. They went from a little known treatment for Type 2 diabetes to a lose-weight-fast magic injection seemingly overnight. Prescriptions for them rose 300% for them from 2018 to 2023 and they’re even faster spreading now. A recent article said that 1 in 8 adults are taking GLP1s. That’s insane to me. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t doubt they help people, I know they do. I know of people who are finally able to start losing weight thanks to them, and that’s a great thing. But I adamantly believe there is no magical cure to obesity that doesn’t involve lifestyle change. Ultimately, long-term weight loss requires increased activity combined with a better diet. Today, I could download an app and order a GLP1 prescription with the relative ease of ordering a pizza. Not even see a doctor face to face. That alarming ease (when compared to getting an effective dietician or nutritionist or personal trainer) feels like a recipe for disaster. And I really worry that in 10-20 years, we’ll be seeing class action commercials on our $200 NetHulu Max Prime subscriptions saying “did you or a loved one take GLP1s and develop long-term effects? You may be entitled to compensation.”

  37. Whenever I refer Presidential precedent I don't like to do so before FDR. It really was a different office before him, then again before Lincoln. More administrative in nature. And like you say the media angle. Also the nature of how they were elected matters. I like to imagine a scenario in 1991 where you tell the dems at the time "Bush can be beat". Would that have changed anything? Clinton muscled through but some others may have not bothered thinking Bush's 90% approval rating wasn't worth the hassle at that point in time. Mondale was really the best example of a retread candidate in recent history. VP on a ticket that lost re-election? Really? You can't do better?

  38. It tracks that trans people, who are going to be more likely to have mental illness just given the nature of gender dysphoria, may be more likely to perpetrate that kind of thing. Now, you can either make their lives easier to alleviate the mental illness, or you can ostracize and marginalize them and make their issues spiral.

  42. Please put a real football person in as Team President. No more Ford Family cronies. I'll give Rod this, he was better than the utter disaster that was a Russ Thomas, Matt Millen, or Tom Lewand. That is a low bar to set though. But that said, I'd love to see anyone of who MB mentioned in Disner, Holmes, or Spielman get the job. I also wouldn't be made if they went outside the organization and brought in a football guy from another organization to run the organization. If they were to give the title to Holmes I would be happy. They could have him in the dual role of GM/Team President. They could also promote him, essentially give him all final personnel decisions still and then slide John Dorsey or Ray Agnew in as the new "GM" so to speak. Lots of options here. But please don't hire another Russ Thomas drinking buddy or Tom Lewand family accountant or attorney.
