I will never understand the criticism minor league free agent signings get around here.3 points

I think it's higly unlikely that any professional athlete would fake anxiety so they could take two years off. These are some the most competitive people in the world and it probably kills them to have to take any time off. Anything is possible I guess, but it seems pretty far fetched. I believe the Tigers would be happy for him if he recovered over the winter and was able to play again.2 points

Washington will struggle to win 20 games this year. They are truly an awful basketball team. They just beat us on our court by 19 points. I can't get over that. What do you do with this mess? I guess you play out the remainder of the season and hope things gel a bit more. Here is the quarter of a billion dollar question. Cade is extension eligible this summer. What do you do with that?2 points

Just watched the last minute of the game after getting out of the shower, now I got to jump right back into it after rooting for the Bears for that brief moment.2 points

IDK, hard to believe a guy would want to dog it more than take advantage of the chance to play with his kid brother. I worry more that at his age the onset of psychological problems might be something as serious as the front edge of a developing schizophrenia, which could be pretty tragic.1 point

What I have seen over the past few decades is that whenever a deal would start to get close enough, Palestinian militants would start an Intifada or some other violent action to skupper the deal as they DON'T want a deal... they want the Jews exterminated. That's Hamas' philosophy. I'm not calling Israel innocent, they are not. Yes, they've stolen or threatened or used "illegal construction" to demolish homes and used the courts as well, and other "pseudo-legalisms", to steal land. They have been repressive and Palestinian violence has in good part been because of Israeli actions. But I've also seen violence coming directly out of the possibility of finalizing a two-state solution. There are large Palestinian elements who do NOT want a two-state solution. And most likely large Israeli factions as well. This toxic mix has produced nothing but heartache or worse for the majority of Palestinians who would just like to have a normal, decent life, in their own country not beset by Israeli interference or repression or theft, not beset by corrupt Palestinian authorities who do not help the situation, nor beset by Palestinian factions unwilling to allow Jews to live in Jewish ancestral homelands but willing to use violence whenever it suits them resulting in more death and angst for the Palestinians who just want to end this cycle. I don't see an end to this cycle. And it is NOT all in Israeli hands to end this cycle, in fact they've given up and are simply making a push to grab as much land as they can at this point. No, it is also in the hands of Hamas' since they REJECT a two-state solution and have a multi-decade record of murder and violence whenever the two-state solution gets close enough to implement. So how do you see an end to this cycle when HAMAS will do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to THWART a two-state solution?1 point

You can never have enough pitching especially since virtually all of our starting pitchers have dealt with recent injuries or are still unproven at the MLB level.1 point

Here's the funny thing: Hamas IS the Palestinians. What? Do people think Hamas is imported from Egypt or something? The IDF estimated 30,000 to 40,000 Hamas armed terrorists in Gaza. Those 30-40K Hamas...? ARE Gazans (Palestinians). They are not Saudis, or Turks, or Egyptians, they ARE Palestinians. Hamas RECRUITS Gazans (Palestinians). Hamas is MADE UP of Gazans (Palestinians), in Gaza, (can't say outside of Gaza, or top leadership which could come from any Palestinian camp or Gaza or West Bank...). Palestinians (at least those in Gaza) are not a "third" side. They are deeply intertwined with Hamas, and ARE Hamas.1 point

Man...the worst part of a lot of this is that there are good people who need solace out there. I think whatever you think about the idea of a higher power in your most sober pursuits...there are times in your life when it is absolutely a necessary thing to appeal to the strength of that which you cannot understand. I hate with passion those who abuse this for wealth and power. I support and love those who do shepherd their fellow man and live by the golden rule. Christ's teachings are a wonder. Its amazing/not-amazing how they were bridled up by the powers that be to support all manner of foul things. But, there are many other universal truths out there that go beyond abused by the powers that be as well.1 point

Unpacking the lions defense it’s obvious what needs to change: get more turnovers, tackle better and tighten up in the red zone. Lions have forced only 12 turnovers, only the panthers, titans, rams and patriots have forced fewer. The lions allow 68.6% of trips to the red zone to end in a touchdown, only the bears and panthers are worse. Opposing teams have gotten 27 first downs by penalty against the lions, most in the league. Lions have the 5th most missed tackles. So here is where it gets surprising. The lions hurry percentage is 11%, which is actually tops in the NFL, but have only 23 sacks, which ranks near the bottom (26th). They blitz at a middle of the pack rate. The lions just can’t get home. Even getting the pressure they do it’s it causing turnovers or sacks. When they get an opportunity to make play they aren’t making it. And then they take penalties to keep drives going for opposing teams. I just don’t know that I expect anything to change.1 point

Agree. But Sorsdal and Awosika are not accustomed to playing to any level. One of them will need to improve markedly or Jonah Jackson will have to return.1 point

I think the biblical stories are fairy tales, but I believe that many religions promote love and kindness and other good things as fundamentals. The problem is that too many people exploit it and too many buy into their negative persuasions.1 point

It's a nightmare. The Pistons are now paying for the winning they did in two extended Championship windows in the past. It's odd because I don't think they're that much less talented than the Magic or the Pacers but they are light years behind both. What is it about this culture that brings out the least in their players? Is it the depressing Detroit winters? Is it coaching? Is it the water? I know it's a team of mostly young guys but there isn't a lack of talent with the core. It's either continuous 4th quarter collapses or not competitive at all and it's getting worse all the time.1 point

It's more humor than criticism. I think most people here realize that taking a shot at possible hidden gems is a good thing even if most of them don't amount to much.1 point

I like JEIII saying the Pistons don't want to make any panic moves instead they want to see what they are like when they are healthy. Dude unless they have prime MJ hurt on the roster they aren't going to be anything but horrible even when they are healthy. Yeah they are missing some pieces but they are also 2-15 and just got blown out by the 2nd worst team in the league. If the Pistons were sitting at say 8-9 or even 7-10 while being competitive most games I could understand that sentiment but they are getting boat raced every game, guys like Bogey and Morris(if he ever comes back) aren't going to make some drastic difference.1 point

He's already got 102 yards passing. He had 169 against the Lions. He's also completing over 80% of his passes.1 point

Kid can shoot Nice to see Nate getting some shine going after a slow start to the Junior season for him. Also doing way better on faceoffs lately. Nice view of his release on the replay1 point

I think all they are really expecting is a league average starter that can give them 150 innings a year. Basically what Lorenzen was for us before the trade last year. In this day and age 12 million a year for 2 years is a solid deal for that type of production.1 point

I don’t like that argument for saying the Lions aren’t good. They’re 1-2 against teams with a winning record, and they’ll be 1-1 if the Seahawks lose to the Cowboys on Thursday. You can’t lose games you don’t play. I think it’s more important that they’re 7-1 against teams with a losing record. They win games they should win. Speaking of the Cowboys, they’re 0-2 against teams with a winning record. Does that mean if they lose to the Seahawks they’ll finish 8-9? If you want to say the Lions are not one of the top 3-5 teams in the NFL, I’ll agree with you. Because that’s the only group that consistently beats teams with winning records. But I think it’s silly to say that means they’ll finish 8-9 if they don’t beat the Saints.1 point

Do not pay money to fill your tires at a gas station. Any reputable tire shop (Discount, Belle, RnR) will have a free air pump for your to use. Each one here in town has one and it is outside so you can even use it when the place is closed.1 point

Reality: IDF has killed thousands of people the IDF, as well as many posters here, say are human shields. MotownForums: Let's come up with a hypothetical scenario where IDF isn't doing what IDF is doing and belabor it. LOL1 point

I believe that the IDF soldier keeps shooting and confidently says "if there was a war crime committed, it was committed by Hamas for using a human shield", like they say every day in real life. Netanyahu would drop an atomic bomb on them and consider the dead Palestinian child to be a bonus.1 point

Bruce did a great job that 2nd period, but he always felt bad he mixed up the defenseman's name on the big McCarty goal. It's like going to the symphony and the concert pianist makes one wrong note that everyone but himself barely notices.1 point
