We don’t now, or at any time in the last few administrations, have open borders. Anyone who uses that term just advertises their dishonesty, and in most cases, racism.

When my partner and I opened our first restaurant my girlfriend was talking to some employees and a few mentioned they didn't have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving. She invited them over for dinner and I think 7 people ended up coming. That morphed into an annual dinner hosted by my girlfriend and my partners wife. We're expecting over 200 people tomorrow.

You agreed I was correct with what I said - and then went off the rails about what some on the left believes (or your opinion of same). Most of the “left” people I know, and lots of centrist people believe the immigration issue is a mess. Despite efforts that have been made to fix it, the “right” -to use your simple labels- doesn’t want to fix it. So they can continue to stoke anger and resentment all the while getting piles of cash sent to them.

Last complaint. An NFL defense starts and ends with it’s pass rush. We don’t have consistent pass rush. This has been an issue for years. The Eagles consistently have a good defense despite all that churn specifically because they aren’t married to draft and develop. You need a mix of draft, free agents, and trades to succeed.

Sticking to a philosophy helped break free of the loser mentality. That same stubbornness is now a liability. Deciding what kind of defense you are going to play despite not having the players to play that effectively is just dumb.

Season is on life support and I firmly believe that a lot of it is on coaching. Dan has made questionable decisions all season with the offense and the defense, even when getting healthier, has gotten worse and worse under Shep. This roster is too good, even with the offensive line questions, to be 7-5 IMO

JB's in game management is starting to rear its ugly head a bit and will even moreso against better teams. He's playing Cade too much, Cade has looked exhausted down the stretch as of late. Jenkins, the way he's been playing, is the ideal type of PG to lead a bench unit and he's largely been phased out and now Levert is getting those minutes for some reason which leads to lots of individual play by the bench. It was fun while it lasted seeing those guys playing team ball. Also, why is Duren guarding Brown down the stretch and not Ausar? Why is Levert out there down the stretch? Robinson is playing too much as well. It's a 15-3 team so all is good now but I'm seeing some concerning signs with JB's rotations which shouldn't be shocking because this is his pattern with Cleveland and in the Knicks series last year as well.

Particularly since they are of working age and can help support an aging population that no longer works—which has been the plan since 1935.

I’m sure some ICE personnel are decent people, but others seem to enjoy the cruelty they are able to use on people. And with recent hiring blitz, the proportion of bullies and thugs has gone up. This cruelty is part of the plan by Steven Miller and the rest of the fascist, anti-American dregs.

I am now caught up with all of you. I typically don’t like sci-fi, but to me this is the right kind of Twilight Zonesque sci-fi, relying less on whiz-bang alien technology and more on alien societal structure. The ethical and moral issues it raises regarding Carol’s reactions and responses, not to mention allegory of the efficacy of a welfare-based society on personal happiness, fascinates me.

He is as bad on defense as he is good on offense. His defense has been bolstered by the fact Stew has played quite a few minutes next to him. The Piston's weak schedule also means Duren has been going up against weak big men rotations. The only good bigs he has faced were Houston and Cleveland. I think he had something like 14 points combined against those teams. Although, he only played 12 mins in the Houston game because he got ejected. I do see quite a few Pistons fans saying he will get a max contract this summer. That would be a disaster.

I love his attitude. I always thought the desire to play with the best team that doesn't really need you was pretty shallow. It's more of a challenge and I would think more satisfyng to be an important part of team that's still building to be a great team. So, let's add him to the list of starting pitchers who we can dream about being the #2 guy behind Skubal.

Good news, my wife had knee replacement just over a year ago. A bit surprising that it is now basically outpatient surgery. She's just about fully recovered except for the occasional flashes she gets from a nerve or two. We did several longish walks/mini hikes while on vacation, including a few tough hills with no problems. The only really scary part was when she fell in the bathroom the first night post surgury. She had the walker but just went down, nothing was damaged in the process outside of her pride. She had a minor tumble earlier in the evening which turned out to be instrumental in getting her back on her feet the second time. i was asleep and she didn't wake me til she fell.

I probably should have thought twice before going on leave while the holiday and medicare advantage commercials are in full swing. Oh well. My surgery went well, and except for discovering that it was easier to learn to get around using a good left leg than a good right leg, recovery should go okay too. There was just that scary part when I fell off the scooter because the nerve block hadn't wrong off yet. Oops.
